the front prop shaft causes vibrations when NOT in 4x4. Since the front tires spin the differential the shaft spins as well, it's just separate from the rear driveshaft rate and not locked together.

I had this same problem and after about 3 months(really just before winter/cold weather) I got it replaced. YAY for 4x4.

Yesterday I did the water pump gasket.....and now it leaks again! I've only had hell on Jeep water pumps. Any suggestions? The guy at checkers suggested using Permatex #2 with the gasket and it has only SLIGHTLY increased the life of this gasket. I need something cuz I'm tired of changing the gasket. Although it is easier than an oil pan gasket that's for sure.

Next project is to repair my back up lights. 2 6" knock off brand lights have finally given up the fight, but for $10 you can't beat it.

Gave my XJ the day off, wheeled it to Jeeptoberfest over the weekend. I got 16.6 mpg and drove it over two hundred miles of highway and trails and two courses at Jeeptoberfest with no problems..Lots of pics/video's in my build thread of the event.....Donnie
