Installed a boostwerks shifter linkage and put the rear driveshaft back in. Getting closer. Once the links come in the front axle will go back in and I can finally drive it again!

So, 31" spare, trail jack, Jerry can... and I want to keep it all out of my cargo area. Spare will eventually get a swing-out. But I don't like the setups the carry a tire, jack, and can. I want the tire tucked nice and close to the hatch.

ugh...
Thanks man.

I'm the same way. I don't like the swing-out carriers that make the tire stick out a foot from the body. There's very few that I like. The OEM tire carriers, however, seem to keep it nice and close. I'd like to figure out a way to fab one up that is similar - since the OEM ones are unicorns. Thought I had a lead on one recently... guy was selling a Jeep that had it on it. Said he'd be willing to separate it, but someone about 10 minutes after he said he'd separate it.

I like that setup, but mine is a 60" and won't fit in that spot.

After driving it today with the worst handling possible. I will tell all of you to stay away from rugged ridge upgraded steering. Just replaced all of the tres not 3 months ago and they are all shot. Going to heim steering once my paycheck comes in.

Started tearing up the engine bay getting ready for head replacement. Removed some of the small things and labeled wires. Today I can finish the job hopefully.

Well the Gremlin died on my yesterday. Was going down the hwy and it started knowcking and blowing white smoke. Pulled over and there was water coming out of between the head and the block. Checked the oil and sure enough

Got a ride home and called a roll back to go get her.

While I was waiting on the gremlin to get home I gave Free Ride a once over to see what I actually have.

Not sure what this means? Anybody seen this sticker?

I feel like the osama biden sticker is probably what killed the jeep and made it roll off the trailer lol

Most everything is there except the front end and some connectors he cut off for his wrangler. But those are cut straight and even and should be easy to fix. Ive got a lot of work to do to get these two on the road. Looking at 2 engine builds....

I'd guess it's a 91. They switched from a metric oil filter thread in 90 to a 3/4" thread in 91.

So I have 2 sets of Camel Removable Headrest Leather Seats from '99's that I want to put in my '00. Got around to taking apart the worse of the 2 driver's seats. Learned a few things. Thinking only learned one thing by screwing up. My goal is to rehab the seats best I can and then use the Coverking Rhinohide Seat Covers I bought. So my thinking at the moment is this. The backs are interchangable. Just the seat cover. Not the whole thing. The seat covers are the same part # driver's and passengers's. They come off pretty easy. No hog rings but a couple rods that you can pull out that go through hog rings that are attached to the foam/frame. The biggest challenge in getting them off was twisting the plastic that the head rest go in 90 degrees where it went through the frame so you can separate them. I think I am going pull the better of the two passenger side backs and use it on the driver's seat. One tip. Do not pull the foam away from the frame cause there is a rod in fabric glued to the foam that is hog ringed to the frame. Thinking it can be fixed easy enough but will try to not make this mistake when I do this for real.

So the bottom is a different story primarily cause it has carpet by the console and leather on the outside. Passenger seat is obviously opposite. My friend's daughter sews. She says she can sew in some patch panels. Thinking I have plenty of material that I can steal from the extra back seat. Also thinking about just putting the whole passenger bottom on the driver's frame work. It will attach with the bed spring coils. But the thing that is different is the white plastic clips that secure it also. They would need to be swapped but they are just stitched in so thinking that might be easier. Plus some access holes will have to be cut in the carpet for the recliner arm. Plus the foam is in better shape. And since I am using seat covers you will not notice that the carpet and leather on the sides is reversed.

And to anybody who might care because they broke the hook that the driver's mat secures to this fell out when I was taking apart the seats. See the last picture. Appears it can be easily replaced if you could find one.

New steering linkage. The old was pretty wobbly. I used Omix-Ida, and it seems to be equal to OEM.

Death wobble is gone! Yay!

I added The Cure from RuffStuff. Very nice! Steering is smoother than it has ever been.

Bought a new OEM radiator from the local FCA dealer for $380.00 as a start to my cooling system overhaul.

That price seems a little steep, but, after hearing so many mixed reviews on aftermarket radiators and not being able to convince myself I wanted to roll the dice on this crucial component, building a good relationship w/ my local dealer and the hope that I will get another 220,000 miles before needing to replace it again, I was able to justify it and pulled the trigger on it.
