Installed the hitch on the MJ

Had to break the weld nuts inside the frame off because the hitch bolts were 1/2" compared to filmsy 10mm oem bumper bolts.

Still needed to do it anyway because 5 out of 10 bolts broke off. I used the air hammer with a chisel point. 10/10 will recommend doing that instead of clunking away with a hammer.

I did the oil change on the XJ today, easy peasy. The usual recipe; a Mopar 090 filter and T-6 oil.

Then I decided maybe I should change the mj's oil too... I never changed it since I got it about 7 months ago

You may or may not know about the common issue on renix era jeeps... the stupid mumblemeter thread on the oil filter nipple on the housing.

Used a 7/8 wrench to turn that off then used a 1" wrench to tighten the new nipple on.

And since I used up the last of my oil filters on the XJ. ****. I browsed around my cabinet and found an old oil filter from 8 years ago (it was for my aunt's 97 Ford Explorer with.... 4.0 v6. Lol. Anyway the filter is small but I tested it on my 1991 block on the garage floor and it fits perfectly so I went ahead and used it.

When I took the old napa filter out. I noticed something stamped on the inside. Very interesting, at least to me. Can you notice it?

^^ Its destiny, man

Changed my trans fluid with some MT-90. The 10/40 motor oil I had in there before definitely sheared out of grade in about 10K miles, started to get some gear whine and now its back to smooth and quiet.

So the Cruise Control that I installed last week started screwing up after 4 days. First the air bag light would come and go. Cruise would only light up when the air bag light was not on. The horn seemed to work all the time. Then it got to the point that the air bag light would stay on, Cruise would not light up, and no horn. Learned how to check continuity of a clock spring, really suck when it comes to electrical, and it appeared the boneyard one was bad. Fortunately I have 2 other cruise units. One of those was bad but the other was good. Installed and for the moment all is good. If this one screws up then I am just going to buy a new one.

Didn't you already do this once?

Anyways, basic but needed maintenance stuff today. Reverse flush on the cooling system, oil and filter, plus a light tuneup (spark plugs only)...after cleaning up the garage, lol.

They're the Genssi ones. They actually have a pattern unlike the other ones. But take note, they are not DOT legal.

Genssi makes some good headlights. I'm running their LED H7s in my Altima and on my XJ i have their JW Speaker jump offs. Love them both

My wife had a talk with me today regarding the jeep... Luckily it was about getting a new winch bumper for it. She likes the Tuff Stuff bumper and the JCR winch bumper that looks almost identical. I'm on a budget (credit card limits...lol) so I'm leaning towards the Tuff Stuff bumper. I'm not sure how I feel about how it mounts to the unibody. I don't want to regret the purchase.
