Yea, my stomach dropped for minute as the idea of having driven around with a brick of drugs crossed my mind. That's before I touched them. I was just staring at it wedged down in there.

I plucked it out and then I realized how light it was. So it's either a insulation/sound damping or some kind of strange drug strain cooked up into cotton candy and stuffed into a small trash bag.

Either way, both bags are at landfill now.

Looks brand new to me! Definitely cleaner than the one I had in my '88 GMC and MOST definitely newer than the one I bought off eBay for my XJ lol.

Must have been you that posted about this awhile back maybe. I forgot to look for one of these on my last boneyard walk through. Probably could have gotten it for free if I found one. The 2 boneyards I go to are customers of the auto parts store I work at. They are not pick and pulls but let me back there. When it comes to small stupid stuff like this they usually don't charge me and tell me to go away. LOL. Thing is the older vehicles that this are on have usually already been crushed. So when I saw these for sale on another forum I figured I should just pay the $30 and snap it up.

So ran some final tests on the overhead console and visors. Those and the headliner will be getting dropped off towards the end of the week to get redone. Awhile back I installed the OneWayLights. Told Jason that I wanted a dome light package but was wondering if he would sell me the 4 bulbs that I would need for the overhead when I finally got around to it. Sent them to me free of charge. When I installed all the dome light ones my cargo bay light was not working. I assumed that it was bad wiring despite the fact that it worked before I installed the LED. Finally got around to putting back in the old bulb and it worked fine. Contacted Jason and he got right on it sending out another bulb. Awesome customer service. Been fine every since. Well the 4 for the overhead worked fine but only 2 out of the 4 vanity LED's worked. Just emailed him and am hoping for a similar outcome.

EDIT: SatiricalHen pointed about polarity of the bulbs. I had no idea. I usually attribute stuff that does not work for me to user error. Figures the one time I don't it is. They work fine. And of course Jason was right on top of my email. So I emailed him back as soon as I saw it and explained my error and apologized. Hope I catch him before he tries to fix a situation that does not exist. Talk about awesome customer service.

What do you mean?

Got a nice surprise. Now I am about to see which of the driver's power seat bases work. Or work better. Peeled up the carpet and found this. One of the reasons I bought the '00. Structurally she seemed in good shape.

Leds are polarized unlike incandescent bulbs. Sometimes if they don't come on flip them and they work. There is a certain positive and negative side.

I'll be damned. They work. I usually attribute stuff that doesn't work for me to "User Error". Figures the one time I don't it actually is. Guessing dumb luck that I put in 6 out of 8 bulbs right not knowing any better. Thank you.

So I decided to do a little prep work regarding the leather power driver's seat install. Still not sure if I am going to run the power seat though. Might just keep it manual. Anyway like it says on the internet. The wire is there under the passenger seat. You just need the rest of it that runs to the driver's side. You also need that little silver circuit breaker in position 29 in the fuse box inside the Jeep. Did get a nice surprise when I saw the floor pan on the passenger side. One reason I bought the '00 is because she seemed structurally in really good shape. The parts I am using are out of a '99. So I have 2 bases and thinking neither works properly. On one everything works. But the back and forth adjustment does not seem to move as smoothly as the other. Thing is on the other one that is all that works is the back and forth adjustment. The motors do appear to be working. Quick search talked about nylon gears being stripped. Also on the one where everything works the motors for the other adjustments seem to move a little more then I thought they would. The motors themselves when it gets to the end of an adjustment cycle. Like they are not bolted down properly. Problem is that could just be how it is. I have no frame of reference. So I don't know if I should run the one where everything works. Or see if I can swap the 2 motors on the other one. Or just run the seat as a manual.

The ZJ seats I'm in the process of swapping in have 0 manual control, idk if XJ seats are different. Looks like all your research is similar to mine. I have a full parts donor ZJ so I'm planning on cutting and splicing in the ZJ connectors. Found that the 2 pin connector is actually 2 power feeds one for power seats and one for the heated seats so I'll have to either run new ground wires to the body or run them both to the grounding spot under the passenger seat. Also the ZJ bases are a but different so I have to weld together some brackets to get them to bolt down to the factory XJ locations.

2x6. I found a write up called "extrem xj rocker replacement" which I'll be following for mine with the 1/8" strap, 2x2 angle and 2x6. Also, yes I meant to leave the e off of extreme because that's how it's titled.

hood almost flew back today driving down the highway, ratchet strap slipped and almost let the hood go..
