What did you do to your Cherokee today?
Beach Bum
Cape Point, Hatteras Island
Drove it down a three foot ledge then through salt-water and down a super sketchy beach with the high surf smacking the dunes. Had to time it right and be heavy on the throttle.
Who else was there, nobody.

Beach Bum
My XJ was professional at that.
Tells me they are pansy and drive vehicles that are too expensive. I've been doing this since I was 4, driving the beach in my Dads lap and learning from old-timers. Yes, I take calculated risks.

So tried to take it easy today. Got the tow hooks in and put my fogs back on. Front is done. Put on my new rear bumper caps. So now all four match. Will probably have to take them off to put back on my mud flaps when I get them back from Line-X. Got the bottom of the driver's side seat POR 15'ed. So now I can figure out how I am going to put the passenger seat on it. That should be fun. Started messing with the rust on the power seat base. Did not POR 15 the tranny crossmember. After cleaning, degreasing, and rinsing it took awhile to dry so I did not metal prep it. Was just to lazy to drag out a compressor.

Harmonic balancer went yesterday. Threw the serp belt, but thankfully was right around the corner. Didn't stop it from spewing coolant all over the driveway, though.
Got everything I need to fix on amazon today...bought the OTC 6284 HB tool, and a Dorman HB. Already have a serp belt, and have a spare radiator, new in box, in the shed, so just gonna change it at the same time, as I have had some higher temps this summer. Last time I changed it was in Colorado, so might as well while I'm in there. Frees up some shed space, haha

Cool. I just never have liked systems in my jeep...I have a Pioneer deck with some 6.5 Kickers (no sub), and it never gets turned on. I like to hear my XJ and what it's telling me, haha
