My mistake, I didn't understand what you meant by that.
For anyone not following, I thought he was simply doing 35-31=4" difference. But of course you have to divide that by two because the 4" difference will be split equally on each side of the hub where the wheel mounts. 2" to the left and 2" to the right.
But if he also moves the mount 2" lower, it would give him a total of 3.696" of extra usable window space
Its all good. I dont give the best descriptions. Now i am going to have to go tape a tire to the back and see what it looks like from inside.
Thanks Shoop. You werent kidding. Not bad at all. Any my baby 31 would have even more visibility! Looks like bumper building time is coming up...
I still think it blocks a lot of visibility. Especially that blind spot straight down the center. That has been probably the biggestvreason why I went against a swingout carrier. But like you said with smaller tires and moving it down a little it would be much better for us haha!

Actually was having a hard time following that... thanks for the clarification.

Gotta build it how ya can, when ya can. I'd like a rear bumper tire carrier eventually (you know I've been searching for an OE style quarter panel mount for years anyway), but no can do for a while.

No worries
I like finding excuses to do geometry, even if it's basic stuff. Keeps me from getting rusty, and those skills will help when I eventually start building custom
Haha! Yeah! Plus, when I installed the ZJ seat, the OE one wasn't tall enough for my arm to rest on. I didn't realize it, but these are about 1.5" taller profile, so I got my arm rest back!
