Friday:
-Got off work in the morning, took the kids to school, friend picked me up and we went to the junkyard in Gainesville. Got a few parts to fix my wife's car, but scored a license plate panel from an Olds Aurora for the back of my Jeep, a "newer" style dash bezel for it, and a set of hood vents from a 5.9 ZJ (had original intent of getting a new fuel tank as well, but all their tanks had holes in them and for whatever reason they used them as a jackstand point).
-Left the junkyard and headed back to home, stopped and picked up a fuel pump from a local place in town.
-Came home to install fuel pump - by this point it was about 6pm - box said "Denzo" printed on pump was "Walbro" and pump was DOA
-Found a fuel pump at advance auto, limited lifetime replacement.... Gotta do what ya gotta do.
-Put new fuel pump in, works like a champ.
Saturday:
- Went to pull wife's car into garage to replace the shift cable (problem with her car was the poor design of the transmission shift cable. Collects water down by the end that attaches to the transmission and starts to rust - making it really difficult to shift) - shift lever snaps off in my hand trying to get the car OUT of gear after I pulled it into the garage to work on it. So now HER car is down.
Today:
-Pulled Jeep out of parking lot at work to use my overhead lights to shine on a deputies car while we fix his trunk latch. As my Jeep is idling, it starts to sputter and then die.

You won't find fuel tanks in the JY. They drill holes in them on purpose. To keep them from "e'sploding", LOL...whenever they take in new junkers, there's a checklist they go through, like removing batteries, draining fluids, and drilling holes in tanks to let them vent, so the vapors don't build up and cause a Hiroshima in their yard, haha...they also remove certain emish equip like cats...anything that comes back on them in any way, goes.

They remove cats because they scrap them for the rare elements inside. Platinum, palladium, rhodium, copper, etc

Yup. There's a lot of things they go over before it even hits the yard. Whether it's for safety, scrap value, or hazardous waste.

They don't drain any of the fluids or anything at the yards around me. Either that or they just miss a lot of them. Still put the stands in terrible spots on the vehicles though. Also take the batteries and cats out. The sell some batteries but scrap all cats.

Damn.... I knew they put holes in 'em on purpose, but I was hoping that was just LKQ. MAYBE I'll get lucky at my local yard. They pull the tanks and the radiators and put them inside the vehicles before they put them on the yard. They don't even use "jackstands" at my local yard, they just pull all the entire drivetrain and plop 'em on the ground.

If not well..... dammit.

Default Interior_Drivers Seat

Replaced my Drivers Seat, due to original frame being broken.

Seller of Jeep gave me a matching set of front seats but only installed drivers side, going to use seat covers.

Drove it to class, laid down some killer beads, then on the way home, took it to a local dirt lot, and got on the skinny pedal several times, hit some mini obstacles, and just had a spot of fun. Digging the new throttle body, it makes a difference. After some fun, picked up a couple cold ones. Now to chillax the rest of the day, maybe get some work done on the stairs in the house...been a good day so far.

Well never could get it started this morning. Had to catch a ride home with a buddy. Gotta concentrate on getting the wife's car fixed now, then I'll go fix the Jeep.

Went to the junkyard and got the part I needed for that today. While I was there I she'd them about their fuel tanks. Turns out my hunch was right... Since they pull the tanks before their vehicles hit the yard, they don't punch holes in em.

Got the part for the car, a tank for the Jeep, and a steel fuel tank skid for 58 bucks.
