Thanks Tbone! I will look in to that unit. Glad to hear its already got the signal wire running to the back. Sounds like I would just need to extend it to the trailer plug. And speaking of the plug, just installed a new one and got rid of the stupid 4 pin that no one uses anymore.

That's typical. That's why we gotta show them up on any obstacle course. When the course guys at Jeep Beach found out I went all over that course in 2WD, even where all the JK's were getting hung up, complaints followed and I was asked to exit the course. 1) I know what it can and can't do. And 2) Wheelbase and traction controls will do wonders (not you Neal...lmfao). Yeah, you got 35" tires but a lot of good that does with open diffs and a short wheelbase that high centers or tips easily.

Know your rig, know how to drive it, and that's the recipe for success.

I've watched stock rigs kill obstacles that the lifted and gifted guys couldn't get through...case in point, I ran Carnage Canyon in Colorado in a stock Toy extended cab. Got through the Pinch in record time, minimal effort, while straight tube buggys had issues. People were PISSED, LOL

So today is the first day of my vacation. As some of you know I usually refer to it as "Project Jeep Week". With the weather changing things for this season are coming to an end. I pretty much got everything done that I wanted to do this year except the sound deadening of the floor. Which would also mean cleaning the carpet, since it would be out of the Jeep, and doing some housekeeping and maybe some POR 15'ing. My rear washer is on the fritz. Noticed it stopped working about a month after I did the front tow hooks. Which sucks because I had that area wide open, cause I figured I would do some housekeeping up there, saw how crusty the pumps were, thought I should deal with them but just wanted to get my Jeep back together because at that point it had been on jack stands for 2 weeks. Thinking I will deal with that next year. Also I have developed, what I believe to be, a lifter tick. Starts about a minute when I start a cold engine and last for about 5 minutes after. So I am thinking I should pull the valve cover and try the Marvel Mystery Oil soak. After that it is just October maintenance. Put a socket to various nuts and bolts to make sure they are still tight. Oil change, lube, and top off any fluids. Wash, compound, and wax the exterior. Rain X the outside windows. Vacuum and detail the interior. Use the Rain X Fog stuff inside. Maybe power wash underneath the Jeep, have to see if it really needs it, and then Fluid Film. With a little luck I won't be fixing anything till next spring. Of course that is when the fun starts all over again.

Anybody have any opinions on getting rims Line-X'ed? When I had that other work done I asked. Figure maybe problems with the bead sealing for starters. They said they only did it once. Brought up all the same concerns. The customer said the heck with it lets try. Thing is they never heard back from the customer as to whether it worked or not. Thinking some Line-X'ed rims would look really nice on my black Jeep and hide all the little defects in them.
just used a black matte spray can from the local auto parts store. Can't remember the brand. Rustoleum I think. Holds up fine and was easy and cheap. I bought a 5th off eBay for the spare.

Used spray bed liner for the bumpers and trim. Works fine but surface is rough and will grab lint from towels when you wash it!

Replaced the radiator this morning. 230,000 miles on the original and it just barely started leaking.

Ended up having to cut the quick disconnect never disconnect fitting off since it refused to release.

Thumbs up

Installed my set of Brown Dog engine mounts last night. I am in love. no more engine rocking all around everytime I pull out and shift gears. the mounts were factory Mopars but quite soft and jelly like.

I made the mistake of forgetting to install the driver side mount first. so the install didnt go quite as smooth as I was hoping lol

So I crawled under the Jeep this morning and looked her over good. Put a socket(s) and/or wrench(es) to every nut and/or bolt I saw. Also checked my air filter. Topped off my anti-freeze, down about an inch and washer fluid. Brake and power steering were at good levels. Lubed the front end and the one driveshaft fitting. Checked the level in the diffs and transfer case. I was tired of fighting to get fluid into those. So I purchased those pumps. One for the tranny fluid for the tc and one for gear oil. Did not get to use them. Levels were fine. In case anybody is interested the one on the left is made by Valvoline. VV818. The other one is off Amazon, Plews 55-001, which I bought first not realizing I could get one through the store. What to do next if anything?
