In my '00 gas tank skid I drilled two extra holes. I used new OEM type nutstrips. There was 2 spots in the nutstrips that were not being used, had extra bolts, so figured why not. Wire wheeled it and POR 15'ed it. I liked the nutstrips that XJwonders makes but needed that last spot that comes out of the uni-body to secure the rear factory tow hook.

So I figured I would clean and detail the interior today. But first wanted to take care of a couple things that have been bugging me. One is the wired remote for my 6 CD Changer. The track indicator light would work. But the backlight for the display would come and go. See where I circled. I should know better then to try to fix things that work or at least kinda work. All I did was unscrew the case and now neither work at all. But realizing this might be a problem picked up a never used, best I can tell, one off ebay a couple days ago. The other thing which I can not figure out is that disc 6 will not play. Not sure when this started. The changer tries, can't, and goes to disc 1. Swapped out the CD and the tray itself, because they can be removed, but no luck. So my 6 CD Changer is really a 5 CD Changer at the moment. Well it turns out it is a little raw and windy out there but decided to get the interior done anyway. Now it is all nice and shiny.

Yesterday, not today. Wheeled it with the kiddos, did some cruising around. Lol, been doing most of my hwy driving lately in the new toy, almost forgot what it's like piloting the Badger at 80mph.

Loud, teetering on unstable, mildly sketchy, bouncy...

And 110% awesome.

Finished my driver’s side rotor and brake pad job. Finshing the passenger side tomorrow night. Frickin’ stood up from a crouch and smacked my knee cap right on a wheel stud. :-p

I know the feeling haha got so used to cruising down the highway in the Jetta and really only drove the jeep around town, then the Jeep went back to daily driver duty and it’s sketchy.

I have his nutstrips on mine. I just used bolts and the square washers that I was using previously to secure the hitch

Having that last spot is nice, but it's real easy access to that spot, so it's not really needed.

Looks great. I did not get to mine today but wish it would come out that good when I do. Of course I do not put that kind of effort into it. Thinking if I did it would come out almost as nice though.

You guys should start build threads. That way we can follow along. A dedicated thread almost acts as a little story for us to follow. This current thread can get somewhat polluted at times. Every once in while I will scroll back and see a post got buried and I missed it. Having dedicated thread keeps everything condensed in one area, makes it easy to follow. Cheers.

I would but IMO what I am doing is just basic stuff. Well documented for the most part on the internet. Which is why I was able to do it. If I was doing some serious stuff, or had any original ideas of my own when building the Jeep then I would have build thread. But I understand your guys logic.

There couple things that I have done that I felt it might help to start a thread. One was installing factory fog lights in my '00 that did not come with them. Most of the info was out there but scattered about. Thought might not be a bad idea to put it all in one place.

https://www.cherokeeforum.com/f2/fac...e-them-220836/

The other was my sound deadening project. Plenty of info out there. Again scattered all over the internet. Everybody did it different or had different opinions. No right or wrong way to do it. So I figured I would document what I did. Figure if nothing else it could serve as an example of what not to do.

http://www.jeepforum.com/forum/f177/...sport-4086497/

Also going to do one about my putting an '99 overhead console in my '00. The couple things that were not plug and play and other couple insights I have from doing the job.
