nothing for months now, my girlfriend calls it the driveway queen. I need to fix a few things, so I can drive it, if I need to or want to drive it into a snowstorm.

Thanks. All to do now is change the oil and Fluid Film the hell out of the underneath. With a little luck won't be fixing anything on the Jeep till spring. That is when the fun starts all over again. Will spend the off season researching how to do the projects/repairs I have planned for next year and assembling the parts that I need to do so.
Was hoping you would post how you programmed the remote. Thinking this is something I can't do myself in my '00 and that you have the tools you need to do it at work.

The white Santa (FedEx) just dropped off my Iron Rock tie rod kit. After cutting the grass today, will start with measuring the old one and installing the new one.

Drive Train
We yanked the NP242 out of our 98 xj. When our daughter bought this thing, it had a junk title. Now she's given to us. So, while trying to id the splines (23) and input shaft length (probably medium), I read the tranny tag as 30-43LE.
4wd should be 40-30LE.
Obviously, they've had to swap the tail to match the TC.
Next, we have to discern what else to look out for while we swap the TC. It worked before the catalytic converter melted all the plastic parts in the TC. Guess it'll work again.

Flexin...
So ya, need longer springs and to change the shackle angle a bit. They rub and wont let the leaf compress all the way.

Why I like POR 15. Getting ready and trying to find what I need to work on the Jeep today I came across my old gas tank heat shield. About 3 years ago I started using POR 15. Started with the starter kits. Had some left over and just started slapping it around on the Jeep. The heat shield being one of the things. I brushed it on what I could get at with it still on the Jeep. What is the worst that could happen? Anyway, this was rusted pretty good. I did not wire brush or prep. Was on my Jeep for about 2 years after I POR 15'ed. Then I hung a gas tank skid.
Thinking about doing s build thread gonna try to put one together tonight, but anyways! Got my new springs and such in the front end this morning. Also painted in the wheel wells

I did this today. With some luck I will not be touching the Jeep again till next spring.
Saturdday
Tried to drop the front axle on the parts Jeep, so it'd be out of my way, but those dang control arm nuts... Don't want to break/cut them if I don't have to.
Didn't have much time today—went to a wedding and had to be greaseless :P
Also, picked up some OE "Snowflake" (some call them honeycomb) rims/wheels (pics in my build thread). Excellent shape, no curb rash.

I bought my third Cherokee yesterday. Pretty stoked. 97 2dr Sport, ax15, np231, dana 30, 8.25. Stock as a rock and only has 138k miles. Super mint! It's going to be my new DD, so nothing too crazy planned. Maybe, I mean maybe, I'll leave it at stock height, regear to 3:73s, streetable limited slip rear, selectable locker front, and 30s.

Solid front articulation though! Looks like the flares help too. How much travel do those shocks have? And I feel you about the shackle angle - my old 99 had the same problem an was on stock shackles. So frustrating because you know the springs have more movement in them.

I know right!?! Took me long enough to fine it. Came from PA too. Not nearly as overpriced as that green one either!
