Thank you Sir I wanted to catch up more yesterday but I had to go get this done. You know as many times as I have done this, there is always that excitement when a new engine cracks and fires up for the first time. Then there is always that nagging question about whether you forgot to torque one of the rod caps. lol

But I would like to find out more about your boat when I get caught up man...

On facebook (most idiots are) there was one kid who posted his XJ on 3s being recovered down a rutted climb. They had the recovery hook (ouch!) wrapped around the leaf spring and the shackle! As Forrest Gump said "Momma says stupid is what stupid does."

So I have been eyeballing this:

https://www.ebay.com/itm/332421571784?rmvSB=true

Been around for a couple weeks. Almost pulled the trigger today. But I can't seem to find the heating elements that would go in the seats online and thinking finding a power seat passenger side base would be almost impossible. Was wondering if I could install aftermarket ones but utilize that. Well Craigslist today:

https://cnj.craigslist.org/pts/6364973504.html

Both seats. Heated with the power seat bases and the plastic, the harness, and the switch. $80. Did not even try to get him to come down. Downside is I had to drive to Jersey. $35 in tolls and $45 in gas. 340 mile round trip. The Jeep behaved itself. Longest distance I ever drove her in one shot. Overhead console said almost 21 MPG. Which pretty much goes with my calculations. Would have been better but we are getting heavy rain today and there were a couple of minor fender benders causing some traffic snarls. Thinking if I could have cruised there and back in both directions would have done even better with the MPG. Not sure if I made out cause of the tolls and gas but frankly I have been wanting to drive the Jeep a longer distance. So I am not sorry I did this. Oh and before the jokes start I did drive to Jersey of my own free will. LOL.

Stroker or rebuild?

HAHA! Yeah... these goons stuck a metal hook in the oval-shaped frame hole for the upper control arm. I've never seen a fish-hooked frame before. It looked just as painful as a fish-hooked cheek, no exaggeration.

Funny that you say that, 'cause our bomb squad team recovered 3 live grenades this afternoon and detonated them at the landfill just a few miles from my house.... so I quite literally heard a bomb go off

Well I took the Jeep out to a local trail to get some videos from Braytonia's drone. Still a work in progress. Will get some of the videos posted later. They turned out ok for the break in run. I also decided that my 50 is now going on all trail rides with me. Its a good little trail scouting bike.

Just a rebuild... It had a cracked head when I got it but was using very little coolant, ran fine and was not mixing fluids. But after using it about a year and a half it started to miss and sucked all the coolant in one off road trip so it was time to just tear it down and do it right.

So I did get it all together and fired up yesterday but still can't drive it. Sitting through this last dry hot desert summer all the internal O rings where the injectors are pressed together dried up and shrunk and are all leaking like crazy. Looks like new injector time. Bummer...

This pleases me.

Can you put in your last will and testament that the executor needs to call me for first right of refusal on your jeep when you die?

Thanks. I am 59. Figure I have about another 10 years of being able to drive without being a danger to myself or others. Hopefully will be smart enough to take myself off the road. Highly doubtful though. If I do I am going to soak some young kid for every dollar I can for the Jeep. LOL. If I die unexpectedly I am going to be buried in her. LOL.

Glad you chimed in. You might just be the person to help me with something. So I saw your OHC switch panels. Awesome by the way. When I first saw them I wished I needed a place for extra switches just to get rid of the garage door opener section that is of no use to me. So with the heated seats I have to lose my ashtray. Not happy about that. Can one be made to accommodate the heated seat switches that would go up there? Pretty sure the part I circled comes out of the rest. About an 1 1/4" wide and 2 1/4" long. Assuming a custom job would cost big bucks though.
