Today was 95 ZJ heat shield day. To resolve vapour lock problems thru the summer and when heat soaking, like 20 min line ups at the dump, or into the store and come back out, heat soak, runs poorly.
Chrysler part # CBXCB060, $19 cdn (includes the 13% tax to subsidize our governing body of liberal thieves off shore accounts), there I go ranting, again, you can pick yours up for about half in USD.
Any ways the heat shield is good for all 4.0L prone to heat issues of the fuel manifold and injectors.
My 89 XJ has a fuel return line back to the tank, self cooling, on the 95ZJ its a one way trip to the fuel log, so heat can become and issue, makes your rig run rough, no power, hard starting, chugging.
Hard to see in the pic, I did also wrap #1 and #3 injectors with some fiberglass insul and aluminum duct/muffler tape. I have not yet wrapped the fuel manifold, will see 1st how effective the heat shield is.

Which confuses the hell out of me. About 2 years ago I did the 4 hole injector upgrade. Mine was in shabby shape so decided to replace it. I paid $2.35 for mine. Tax included. And my local Jeep Dealership had it in stock. Now they are a customer of the auto parts store I work at. I know they look out as far as pricing goes but still.

Quite a mark up. I can count on one hand the number of times I've had the "heat soak" issue happen. Just out of blue every time and only once a day. Do those shields work for those with a serious problem?

I can't say. I have never had that problem with my '00. It had a heat shield when I bought her and had Cheapo Champion plugs. When I finally got around to replacing the plugs I put exactly the same plugs in. And the old plugs were shot. Matter of fact I can't believe it seemed to run as good as it did with the old plugs. Still no problems. I only did the hood louvers because I liked the look. Not because I was having problems

Some have it and some don't. Crazy. I had the rear of my hood raised 1/2" trying to let heat escape but noticed wind shear off the windshield forced debris in to it. Figured no hot air could escape so I let back down. I did remove the padding under the hood right after I got it.

As far as your spark plugs it doesn't surprise me that it ran good. When I got my '96 10yrs ago w/98k on it I was only getting 13mpg local driving but it ran like a top. Decided to change out the plugs only to find out it still had the original ones in it. Center electrode on every one was gone. MPG jump to 19.

you mount them your self? And how did you settle on the MasterCraft? I don't sell those too often. Got a few guys that are diehards for the brand though haha. Not many complaints from them on that tire. I think it looks good as well.

Yup. Self mounted. Two tire spoons and a touch of silicone spray. Had 'em all mounted in about an hour or so. Settled on them because of price, $180 per vs. $238 for the STT Pros, on amazon... which turned out to be a non issue, as I ended up with the tires for free, due to some major ****-ups on their end, haha

They are also made by Cooper, and I did some research online, and asking around before I pulled the trigger. Was perfect for my situation.

EDIT: Total cost for all 4 wheels and tires was ~$220 for the new wheels, balance beads, and new valve stems. SCORE!
