I'm sure they're all together in one place, but I can't find a trace or peanut butter jar with them in it... Hopefully I've got enough in the spares can from my last XJ project...

Drove it and finally started to feel some death wobble in highway turns over expansion cracks. May be time to do the ball joints, since most of the steering is pretty new.

No problem, I had a Grad Torino too, painted exactly like the red tomato in the original Starsky and Hutch.

I liked that car... Cruising at 100 all day long was what they were made for.

Drove it 70 miles around the lower DE state on a small trip. Winds are killer at the moment.

Waste of money really. Either Champion or NGK in the copper flavor... some swear by AutoLite, but I've run all three and it seems like the NGK and Champions do the best.

If that part was black it would have improved the look so much IMO.
Our Tahoe is Red... never thought I'd hate the color red on a vehicle, but I do on the Tahoe.

Disconnected the stabilizer bar and rigged something up to hold it.

Installed an OEM gas tank skid plate. Kinda fun.

That's it for today. Going to drink some beer and watch it snow.

Just finished clearing snow off the XJ from this latest storm, put it in low range to "plow" the driveway. Still more snow to come the rest of the night so I'll be going through this exercise again in the morning.

yeah... that reminds me that doing the ball joints is one of my Summer projects this year. Getting spoiled in AZ as most of the in-town roads here are WAY better than CO where I'm originally from. I know mine aren't horrid yet... but just due for replacement in the 6 mos. to year... so figured Summer works good here. Let me know how your's goes

Got the valve cover back on

Got the water pump and thermostat mating surfaces cleaned, and got the pump on

Got the t-stat gasket traced and cut-- maybe people have already figured this out, but a nice trick to tracing the holes perfectly is to coat the mating surface of the exterior housing with a thin coat of atf and press it onto your scrap of cardboard.

Got new coil installed

Got refund for ebay-special header

Dug a 100' 18" trench by hand.
The shop is getting a 100A 220V sub panel.
Hopefully dropping the 1/0 wire in conduit tomorrow.

Woo!

Drove it! It's been parked for 3 months because life has been busy. Not my daily, and I have been out of town a fair amount of that 3 months. Was great to put some miles on it. Wandered through some muddy trails around the area. Old girl ran good.

Tuesday morning I used it to drag my 8x10 shed 10'. The ole jeep did great tugging it.
