Swapped the full leaf lift packs for SOA and HD springs. Gained 1.5" more lift without using the 1" lift shackles. Storms are keeping me from getting the front RE 5.5" coils in today to level it out. My tires actual measurement is 32.5" tall for reference.

These are the ones I bought. Adhesive is actually pretty good on it, appears to be genuine 3M VHB adhesive tape. No issues with it sticking after prepping the window frames with rubbing alcohol

So I probably did everything wrong you possible could detailing the Jeep. On top of that still need to wax the roof, front bumper, and cowl. But the rest of it is done. And I am pleased with how it came out. I have to clean the windows again so I can RainX them. Then put on new wiper blades. But none of that is happening today. I am beat. Oh and I did not do the rims or tires. I will do that when I rotate them.

I took my 96 XJ and represented our team at the Overland Bound East meet/greet in southern New York State this weekend. I was the only XJ out of 50 off-road/camping rigs. Which means, of course, I had the most capable vehicle there. But that goes without saying. 20 or so folks stuck around and camped Saturday night, where most of the fireside conversation revolved around how amazing the XJ is when compared to more modern vehicles.
Then on the way home me and the 2 buddies I went with cut through a major state forest still heavy with snow, and found a young couple with 2 toddlers stuck several miles down into a valley in a 2wd Toyota sedan. Thank god we decided to get off the highway and cut through there for the fun of it, because they had no cell service and were unprepared for the night and low temps. They just about cried when we got them pulled up out of there.

Took the TB off, and man was it filthy underneath the throttle valve. Not the worst I've ever seen, but wow, it was one of the worst. Also pulled the IAC out and cleaned it well too.
I almost wonder if I could've been getting some air between the TB and the intake.. whoever touched mine before I owned it must have had it off at some point. It was barely on. I may not be ASE certified...but I've been wrenching on engines since I was old enough to hold a wrench. So I can generally tell when something is wrong... and this definitely was.
Wasn't enough to throw a code, but could see it possibly causing part of the issue I've been experiencing with the XJ for a bit.
It was so dirty that I wouldn't be surprised if it could've messed with the MAP as well.... there was enough crap on it. lol.

Got my cowl and front bumper waxed. Cleaned and RainX'ed the windows. Put on new wiper blades. Still have to wax the roof.

Tried to go wheeling yesterday. Made it half way to the trail head when we stopped to let his dogs out. That's when I noticed an stream of antifreeze. So I spent the afternoon putting in a new water pump, rad hoses and thermostat. Made a custom front grill while I had the front off too.
