What did you do to your Cherokee today?
Ralph, you have become the king of mods and time spent on one's Jeep, imho. As a matter of fact, I believe this thread should be renamed "What did you do to your XJ today, Ralph?" Hahaha! I mean this in the nicest possible way, of course. I've said it before, but, I have no doubt you help keep many members motivated, myself included.
And, btw, I have owned my XJ for 6 yrs and that is the longest I have ever owned any vehicle and I too blame this forum!

I think you have it backwards. It is you guys that keep me motivated. I mean I have not had an original idea since 1986. I am just copying all the things you guys have worked out. With the possible exception of my idea to modify and put a factory rear tow hook on the passenger side. Something Jeep did not do for some reason. But then again as you guys have stated, and I believe it, that they are pretty useless. But it is more for a look. Which brings up another problem. I have turned into one of those types that I did not care for when I was younger. Build an awesome vehicle, not that mine is or ever will be, and she is just a pavement princess. Like I really needed skid plates and tow hooks. LOL. I remember way back when. I was out there in the muck, mud, woods, and sand. We were always breaking stuff. And if you weren't it just means you were not trying hard enough.

Went up to St. Elmo today. We tried to go to Tincup, but after a few miles in, the pass became impassable due to about 4' of snow. Talked to the general store owner back in town and he said it would be till about 4th if July before we would be able to get there. So we just checked out the local trails and got a little dirty.

Yes, I'm almost certain the message said he sells "hopelessness and desperation"...

Lol, well she will be once i replace that obnoxious front bumper.
But yeah im pretty stoked, missed having an XJ. The Wrangler was cool... but its just not the same.
Shes gonna need some loving, but i see a lot of potential for a unique rig.
