My buddy's XJ rod is threaded, the one I just bought is threaded, and I just thought it really odd that mine wasn't—maybe it was a silent recall or something.
Thanks for the bump-stop link though— I'll need some eventually.

I changed the oil in the Comanche and tried fixing the condensation from the now working ac from running into the passenger floor board, but I was not successful. I also got very frustrated with the high idle and I have it idling correctly now, but I didn't fix it correctly. I'll put some details in my Comanche build thread and maybe someone can help...

Yea what's with the a/c condensation thing? I get drips every so often on the passenger side. I might be mistaken but it only seems to do it when the temp outside is on the cooler side.

The more it drips after you shut it down... The better it is working as it should to keep you cool. Right now mine on my truck is putting 22 degree air out of the vents with 115 degree outside temp but dropping a lot of water from the backside of the evaporator when it shuts down. Normal in humid weather with a well working system. When it dries up it will drop less.

Ok, got a lead on a good used fender, picking that up tomorrow.
Despite my best efforts, i still havent been able to locate a good used nose for the old girl. Id prefer OE, but oh well. Just ordered up new;
Header panel
Headlight bucket
Adjusters & spring
Headlight retainer
Headlight bezel
Marker lights
Grille
Bit by bit...

Good thing you know someone who will paint all of it.... replacing panels is cheap, paint is not. You are lucky to have the skills and access to all of that.

Lol ya its an assload of work, but it does save me a bundle being able to paint.
Not entirely sure what direction i wanna go in regards to paint on this one. Some variation on silver for the primary color. Lol, mostly out of laziness. I dont want to redo the door jambs.
Im thinking bout going a good bit lighter than the original gunmetal grey(hate that color). Then possibly doing a bedliner job from the high bodyline(just under the gay orange pinstripes) on down, ala Golden Badger. Not sure yet.
