I finally did something!
Cut the holes for the Napier vents and painted the raised sections of the new(ish) hood
then used a coma long to pull the cowl straight (well as straight as it'll get) still gotta do some dent management and trim the under side of the hood for radiator cap clearance.
gonna install it in the morning, too hot.
hoping to get it back on the road soon

So the bulbs are in and for the most part got rid of the amber showing through my white lens. At least for the back and the front. Some before and after shots for you guys. Also got my grill inserts in. Loving these. Also got the headlight harness installed.
So here is the weird thing. Wondering if anybody else has noticed this. 3157's go everywhere except the side markers. Which are 194's. I can not use the LED 194's in the sides. Polarity changes depending on what you are doing. I am talking about polarity in the harness of the Jeep. Know how LED's have polarity.
Well if you put it in one way it will light when you turn on your headlights. The blinkers will work when your headlights are on. But if your headlights are off the blinker will not work.
If you rotate the 194 it will not go on when you turn on your headlights. Won't blink when your headlights are on. Will blink if the headlights are off.
We checked with a meter and could see how it would be a positive number with one scenario and a negative with another when we had the probes in the 194 connector. My buddy who is pretty good with electrical was going over the wiring diagram in my FSM and is pretty sure that is the case. Now with a regular 194 it does not matter. But since LED's have polarity it matters. So the money I spent on those LED 194's was a waste. Now to be clear this is just with the 194's. All the other 3157's I used for blinkers, reverse lights, tail and stop lights work great. Well they worked great after I replaced the flasher. Cause I had the hyperflashing issue. EP27L at Napa was the flasher I used.

But the 194 bulbs are messing things up. Come to find out there is something called non polarized or switchback LED's This would solve the problem of being able to use LED 194's instead of regular ones supposedly. It got darker so I went to play with it and found other problems. I believe that the regular 194 bulbs are not as bright as they normally would be with regular bulbs and flasher. Also when I turn on my headlights both turn signal indicators now glow. Not real bright but definitely noticeable. But when you turn on the turn signals they are as bright as they normally would be. It appears that the turn signals glowing when the headlights are on is just something you have to live with. Still researching what my options might be.

Finishing up the Rear End !
Got my brakes pretty much done. Fabbed up some line mounts and repurposed the old rear sway bar brackets. Here's a picture to show how I ran my brake lines,,,
Passenger side.
Passenger side.
Found two small hairline cracks in the rear differential cover ! I went ahead and installed it. If it leaks, I have an excuse to buy one of the nice G2s !!! Decided to use the stock e-brake cables. Have to get some wire rope clamps and adjust those in the morning. Finish topping off my tranny fluid and the differential grease after I let it down. Then check front end alignment. Adjust my steering wheel to center. Fill and bleed the brakes ! Should be a good day tomorrow ! I did a lot of different things on this session. Might get interesting ?!?!

jessenator comes through. So excited. I received this in the mail today. Please be aware that my pictures are not doing this justice. Now just have to duplicate an Up Country Suspension to make it official. Someday. LOL.

Thank you. It was you who sold me on making them black when you photoshopped that shot for me. Owe you big time. Never been a being able to visualize something kind of guy. LOL.
I like how clean that looks. I am all about clean looking installs and upgrades. I don't usually succeed but I try. LOL. If I ever find a Factory LSD 8.25 3.55 rear, assuming such an animal exists, I figure I should do the rear disc mod. Would like to pair that with a Select A Trac. Thinking for what I do with my Jeep, just a DD and want to get around in the snow, it would be a better set up for me. If I do thinking I should follow your lead if possible. At that point in time I should duplicate the Up Country suspension that I would like to do also. I know the Up Country package from the factory deletes the rear sway bar. I know not having one is no big deal also. But does anybody think I would be an idiot for trying to keep it anyway if and when I do this?
Rereading my post I realized it might not be clear that when I said that the turn signal indicators glow when I turn on the headlights I meant the ones on the dash. When you say your turn signals light up when you hit the brakes do you mean the indicators on the dash or the actually turn signal lights? I had a friend out there with me watching the lights as I was turning things on and off. Trying different scenarios. Right turn signal. Right turn signal with headlights on. Etc. He did not say anything but I will be on the look out for that. Thank you. I went down this rabbit hole on the advice of a few people. Trying to get rid of the amber bulbs showing through the white lenses I installed. Some people told me about the chrome/stealth bulbs. They are just regular bulbs but the only place I really could find them was Ebay and people did not really like them. Said they were dim, which kinda makes sense because they do have a mirror coating on them, and they don't seem to last. Then somebody recommended LED's. I found this video.
Made it look cut and dry. Hell even I could do that. LOL. Now I don't know if he has the same problems as me and chose not to elaborate or not. Also if you look up LED's for your Jeep at the Sylvania site they say to use the ones I did for the side markers. Them not having a clue that they won't work correctly either. I figure I will do a write up to make other folks aware that this could not be as cut and dry as it appears.

Since it was still dark outside I decided to check. Fortunately one of my longer screwdrivers can be wedged in to press the brake pedal. My turn signals did not go on, talking about the actual turn signals not the indicators on the dash, with the brakes depressed. With both the headlights off or on. But this is with the Jeep not running so I will have to check with it running too. To early to start the Jeep. Trying to be considerate of my neighbors. LOL.

Ralph,,, who cares ? It's your Jeep ! LOL !!! Hey, you probably won't notice it missing, unless you tow. It will help to free up the rear axle's movement, which is less than the front axle. Mine was a rusty bar waiting to break ! Just take it off and see how you like it. Store it in the garage, you'll have it in case you change your mind. I'm getting ready to go down the LED path,,,
