What did you do to your Cherokee today?

Drove it to work after a small snow cause I can . On the way home a white XJ with what appeared to be an upcountry type lift very clean stopped a lane of traffic just to smile and give me the thumbs up about my XJ . This made my evening for sure ! I see a lot of XJs on my commute to and from work.

Finished up the rails and installed them, not quite the color i wanted but eh. Playing Mr Mom on my days off really slows me down. Also replaced the division bar and window seals on the drivers door.

Had exhaust brackets installed and the new serp belt tightened. Took her through the car wash in preparation for the second big road trip since bringing her home.

My Poor Baby
After a collision with a fire hydrant a couple of weeks ago, putting her back together and replacing some parts. Bent both passenger control arms, smashed transmission coolant pipes, put a bend in the tie rod sleeve, blew the right front tire and dented the rim (ooooo the 5 point star "Jeep" rim), dented right corner of bumper and pulled it forward, knocked her face out of place, bent up right fender forward drive shaft in back popped up and broke out the rear quarter panel window, and gave her a black eye on passenger side. Got the dog bones replaced, (some creative thinking went into that trick, since I only have regular tools and an outside parking lot) picked up tie rod sleeve (first one I bought had a drag link in the box instead), replaced the lower trans coolant pipe (crimped and had a hole in it), rubber hose on the upper pipe, bought left and right fenders (might as replace the pair, the left was naught but bondo anyway), new antenna so I can hear the radio, new headlight bezel (for that black eye), not sure if I'm going to bang out the bumper or just replace it yet, we'll see how it goes first. May have to replace whole face minus the grille and one bezel, replaced the tire (road hazard covered it so only had to pay for a rim), replaced the broken window (btw, the soapy water technique only works when its 50 degrees or higher lol). New shocks and struts because they really need to be done. Once the weather breaks, she's going to the car wash and getting a full underbody degreasing, except the parts that require greasing. and some new tires that are worthy of a jeep.
Pictures will come soon.

Thinking I see a new water pump in my future. Getting a slight dribble on top of the mud shield and finding a small spot making its way to the ground.
Little to cold to deal with it now. Hoping it will last till the warmer weather hits.
Figure put my pressure tester on it to see if I can figure out where the leak is actually coming from.
First guess is the weep hole in the pump.

4WD Conversion
Just finished converting 1997 2WD XJ to 4WD. Very fun project. Now I have a 1997 2 door, 4.0, 5 speed, 4X4. Sweet!
