What did you do to your Cherokee today?
I had the Jeep accessory sub unit inside my spare tire. Not hugely powerful by any means but it did help fill out the bottom end, and worked best with the factory CD/Cassette player. It was an all-in-one unit that had the sub and a small amp mounted in the round plastic enclosure, and tapped the signal for the left rear speaker. I'd always wanted to upgrade the sub, and remote locate a better amp under the back seat. Biggest down sides to it were the need for an extender on the tire mount, and an extra 2" of intrusion into the cargo space, which I partly mitigated most of the time by having my spare mounted on a 15x6 wheel. Certainly less intrusive than a big old box sitting in the middle of the cargo area.
Handles look good. Easy removal for wax on plastic like that is available through various Wax Removers. McKee's 37 is a good one especially if you're going to use a coating like CarPro Dlux or GYEON's Q2 TRIM which is what I used on ours. You can check out my detailing site for examples galore. If you're not into coatings you can simply use mineral oil and a toothbrush. You can still use that and coat the plastics, just make sure you remove the oil with a prep product.
Overall your look good though!

So going to try something different on the other 2 door handles and see what happens.
When I get sometime I am going to go check out your site.
Thank you but the end result was not satisfying. Somebody referred to Back To Black as shoe polish. And they are right. No matter how hard I work it in it still wants to run down the side of the Jeep in the rain.

GIVING IT a SUMMER VACATION
I pretty much set it up for an unstoppable winter vehicle
so
I power washed it down, did all the paint touch up.
sprayed all the door interiors with WD 40
and
unless I need to have it going because another vehicle has broken down, hit a deer , is in the shop...
it will be resting in it's garage space pretty much until late October,
and then it shall rise again like the phoenix and take on Northern Michigan Winter time with great zeal and ardor.

Got my tires rotated, detailed, and check the pressure. Now if I get to detailing the body this weekend it will be one of the 2 times a year my Jeep is nice and shiny.
I played with new Flexizilla gun today. Seems alright.

Discovered that the dash clock I assumed was broken and in need of replacement (the previous owners had velcroed on a chintzy battery powered one) just needed a new bulb, so one quick run to the parts place and 15 minutes dealing with dash removal/re-installation and I now have a clock I can actually see, and it's 100% stock

Today I installed the new compressor, accumulator, and line with the orfice tube captured in there. When done, I got the system vacuumed and recharged with some juice.
When I got back I spent over an hour cleaning up all the R134 and motor oil that was not paying rent on my driveway so therefore, had to go.
Anyways, fingers crossed that it's not the evaporator as I have now eliminated all other possibilities. I still have yet to see any dyed R134 leaking anywhere. I guess we'll see. In the meantime, that AC is c-c-c-cold.

Engine Bay Clean Up
Washed the exterior and then did a mild engine bay area clean up. It was rough. Pretty much 18-19 years worth of dirt built up on everything and the hoses are just plain older and faded/etched with dirt. I've not yet tackled the underside of the hood but that shouldn't be too bad. I'll try and do that at the next wash. At least there I can cover the engine bay with plastic to keep what I have done clean and water out of where it doesn't belong.
Not perfect but it's 200% better and not bad for 30 minutes of cleaning. Not sure if it will ever match the exterior but I'm working on it. Next go-round I'll do small sections at a time. Will look better as I slowly go through and replace hoses and connections, etc. which I'll be doing over time.

Ordered up some really nice All Weather Floor mats for the front. Perfect fitment!
I also have a really dumb idea for when I get around to removing my carpet to sound deaden the floor. Any part I haven't done. Going to have to drill out the rivets on the tie downs to get the carpet up. Thinking use rivnuts in the floor, drill a really small hole in the mat and bolt the tie downs on top of the Rugged Ridge mat.
