I'd always wanted to upgrade the sub, and remote locate a better amp under the back seat. Biggest down sides to it were the need for an extender on the tire mount, and an extra 2" of intrusion into the cargo space, which I partly mitigated most of the time by having my spare mounted on a 15x6 wheel. Certainly less intrusive than a big old box sitting in the middle of the cargo area.
Good to hear and thanks for the information. I'm going to look at simply mounting an all in one amp/sub enclosure like that in the location of the spare tire and using wire or some type of framing to make a faux style round look so the fabric will stretch over it and be used as a simple curtain / cover to hide the sub Not sure how it's all going to work but I know I can pull it off if there isn't a pre-made solution that will work. My goal is to avoid intruding into the cargo area not only for the sake of space but I also want to conceal it as much as possible.

If you're not into coatings you can simply use mineral oil and a toothbrush. You can still use that and coat the plastics, just make sure you remove the oil with a prep product.

Overall your look good though!
Thank you but the end result was not satisfying. Somebody referred to Back To Black as shoe polish. And they are right. No matter how hard I work it in it still wants to run down the side of the Jeep in the rain.
So going to try something different on the other 2 door handles and see what happens.
When I get sometime I am going to go check out your site.

You'll get good results with McKee's and an old tooth brush. Once done use a trim coating like the ones I listed and you'll be done with them.

I grabbed some ArmorAll. Figured I would just go to town on all the trim. So I cleaned up everything like I did the door handles. The first shot is the driver's done but not passengers. I was OK with it. When I did the passengers it just would not come out as black. Don't know why? Cheap products I am using? Maybe the passenger side was faded more? Maybe I truly suck at this stuff? LOL. Anyway third shot is the better side all done. See how it holds up. I got it in my head I wanted one of those canopy tents. So I grabbed one from Dick's Sporting Goods. Thing showed up in one day.

Default GIVING IT a SUMMER VACATION

I pretty much set it up for an unstoppable winter vehicle
so
I power washed it down, did all the paint touch up.
sprayed all the door interiors with WD 40
and
unless I need to have it going because another vehicle has broken down, hit a deer , is in the shop...
it will be resting in it's garage space pretty much until late October,
and then it shall rise again like the phoenix and take on Northern Michigan Winter time with great zeal and ardor.

Got my tires rotated, detailed, and check the pressure. Now if I get to detailing the body this weekend it will be one of the 2 times a year my Jeep is nice and shiny.
I played with new Flexizilla gun today. Seems alright.

Discovered that the dash clock I assumed was broken and in need of replacement (the previous owners had velcroed on a chintzy battery powered one) just needed a new bulb, so one quick run to the parts place and 15 minutes dealing with dash removal/re-installation and I now have a clock I can actually see, and it's 100% stock

Today I installed the new compressor, accumulator, and line with the orfice tube captured in there. When done, I got the system vacuumed and recharged with some juice.

When I got back I spent over an hour cleaning up all the R134 and motor oil that was not paying rent on my driveway so therefore, had to go.

Anyways, fingers crossed that it's not the evaporator as I have now eliminated all other possibilities. I still have yet to see any dyed R134 leaking anywhere. I guess we'll see. In the meantime, that AC is c-c-c-cold.

Default Engine Bay Clean Up

Washed the exterior and then did a mild engine bay area clean up. It was rough. Pretty much 18-19 years worth of dirt built up on everything and the hoses are just plain older and faded/etched with dirt. I've not yet tackled the underside of the hood but that shouldn't be too bad. I'll try and do that at the next wash. At least there I can cover the engine bay with plastic to keep what I have done clean and water out of where it doesn't belong.

Not perfect but it's 200% better and not bad for 30 minutes of cleaning. Not sure if it will ever match the exterior but I'm working on it. Next go-round I'll do small sections at a time. Will look better as I slowly go through and replace hoses and connections, etc. which I'll be doing over time.

They are nice aren't they. Picked up Rugged Ridge front, back, and cargo about 5 years ago for $145. The one thing that kind of bugged me was the cargo mat. They have flat spots in the position of the tie downs on the floor. But to access them you have to cut the mat. Seem to negate having the mats because now you have an opening that water can get to the carpet through. I picked this Jeep one up for $50. Cool thing is it has openings for the tie downs. Bad thing is it is not black but Agate so it does not match the rest of the mats. Might try to paint it or maybe bedline it.
I also have a really dumb idea for when I get around to removing my carpet to sound deaden the floor. Any part I haven't done. Going to have to drill out the rivets on the tie downs to get the carpet up. Thinking use rivnuts in the floor, drill a really small hole in the mat and bolt the tie downs on top of the Rugged Ridge mat.

That's a pretty good deal. I already have a cargo area mat (not sure the brand as it came with the Jeep) so I didn't want to spend too much and the rear seat isn't going to see much if any use so I'm good with the stock ones that are like new.
