Finally got my high idle issue fixed after cleaning my throttle body. Turns out my throttle plate was way out of adjustment (I suspect PO messed with it) which also makes adjusting the TPS difficult. Idling at a very nice and smooth 700 rpm now. Nice not having to throw parts at it once in a while.

I got 21 in my Comanche one trip to and from the beach and it's basically gotten 15 mpg since then. Doesn't matter really Highway or city
That is surprising. Around town my '00 get tops 14 MPG. But I believe it is the way that I drive it. Short trips, frequent stops, etc. But I don't really care cause I don't drive much so......

Finally got around to swapping out my power steering fluid.
Decided to do it as part of my April maintenance every year.
I just drain the reservoir.
For the 10 ounces of fluid it takes and just the simple fact that I can I figure why not. LOL.
Now what to do next?

But my '00 is stock. Running some 225 75 15 Cooper Discovery HT's. I did add the factory running boards and rear factory mud flaps. Have to assume it produces some drag.
She always had the stock roof rack.
Mine is a '88 with 255xxx miles, 35s, 4.56 gears, aw4, heavily armored/plated. It rolls smooth and is currently getting better mileage than my '97 f150 that has 105xxx miles on it.

I know how your rig is set up and very surprised at your MPG.

You would think I would do a little better around town but NOOOOOOO. LOL.
Hey after I sorted out the issues with the Jeep when I first bought it I turned to seeing what I could do about MPG. Now realize I don't care. But I figure I do what I can and it is what it is.
So all 4 O2 sensors got swapped. I just assume that anything I have not replaced on the Jeep is original. So they had about 150K on them and figured they need to go. Cause she is just a DD settled on those Coopers. She needed new rubber anyway. Did the 4 hole injector upgrade. Had already replaced the plugs so that was done. Cleaned the throttle body and the IAC. Swapped out my diff fluid for synthetic. I really did not take any calculations before. So I have no idea if any improvement was achieved.

So I tried something that did not work out today. Awhile back while cruising internet land I came across this:

Amazon Amazon

Looking at it I kept on thinking that those connectors look just like what is on my coil bar and harness to the coil bar. So I grabbed one from RockAuto for about $12 last year. Was ordering a few other things and threw it into the cart.
Well yesterday I was reading this build thread:

https://www.cherokeeforum.com/f46/20...driver-251924/

He was doing the Viper coil mod. Start around Post #11. Well K Suspension came up with this:

https://www.ksuspensionfab.com/store...__Harness.html

00xjfreedom bought it. It is a cool plug and play set up. I always considered this mod. But not really cause the coil bar bothers me but because I wish there was just a little more slack on the wire at the firewall at the end of the coil bar. Just to be able to move it around a little more. Plus I really did not want to cobble stuff together to do the mod. Hence the little harness. But cause of this new set up I am thinking maybe. I talked to a guy there yesterday. Set up has been out for about a month.

Well it got me thinking about that little short harness. So I tried it today. Well after I took the coil bar I compared the end of the coil bar with the identical end on the harness. The first thing I noticed was that the prongs were shorter. Thinking this is not good I tried anyway.
No joy. Bad idea. Bad Ralph. Jeep just sputtered trying to start, kind of backfired once, and was sounding all types of crazy. My guess is that the prongs are not long enough and were not making a proper connection. I put the Jeep back together and it was business as usually.
There is a chance I could not have been connected properly but I double checked and not wanting to push my luck bailed on the idea.

The first shot is the end in question.

Oh well I tried.

Well I attempted to change the leaf springs. What actually ended up happening is nigh on 8 hours of a full body workout, lots of swearing, sweating, and hunger. Oh and the springs managed to put themselves on... No input from me.

Squeezing 19.5avg, cruising at 70-75mph. The main noticeable difference it made was in the midrange+ area. It compliments the THOR intake and full Banks exhaust (Revolver header & 2.5" Monster cat-back).

Default Front driveshaft rebuild

Finally got around to taking the front DS out of the girl it started squeeking shortly after buying it back in Feb. After taking the u-joints out and dismantling the cardon joint I found that the centering pin has a pretty good groove wore into it. Is there a repair sleeve for this or just get another shaft.

Replaced the axle shaft seals on the Dana 30. I was starting to leave a small spot of gear oil on the work parking lot every shift. Also knocked out the tire rotation at the same time. Then hung some Jeep propaganda up in the garage. Got a laundry list of stuff on the VSTROM that needs to be knocked out hopefully this week and I really need to get back in business on that GS850G.

Default Found part of the problem

I found out the vaccuum cap on the intake manifold was leaking. I replaced it and so far that seems to fix my stalling issue below 180* Now I only have 98 problems to go.

Got the rest of the crap on the white Cherokee and tried starting it, but no luck for me today. Doesn't have spark, so tomorrow after work I'll look at it again in the day light and test some stuff
