It's an ARB 2500x2500 awning with detachable room. It's mounted to Thule crossbars.

It's pretty rad, I must say. My crossbars are too wide though - I'd like it to be much closer to the roof. I don't leave it on, so it's okay for an occasional outing.
Had plans to go do some trail riding from work didn't want to go home to get truck so XJ took control of trailer duties and did really good unless you bring up the less then perfect brakes but all was good !
Brought it home from a weekend camping and wheeling trip.
Couldnt make it to the top of any of the trails we started due avalanche closures but had a great time none the less.
Since my last “what did you do” post I’ve put on a winch bumper (no winch yet) and a tire carrier bumper with the quarter panel armor.
Next up, winch, find inexpensive lighting for the front and rear just for trail and camping,adjustable control arms, zj steering, rear locker and at some point a new headliner. As always there are a million other things I want to do.
After 2 years of ownership I discovered my 98 has floor lamps. One bulb was missing and the other was blown. After a 2 pack of bulbs I can now see how cruddy the floor mats are at night
Replaced all the steering linkage plus a Monroe steering damper that had less than 15k miles on it but was leaking all over and had a dead spot, used a Drag link from a 30,000 mile TJ but the guy who gave me the linkage bashed the still good TREs out with a hammer so the threads were all mushroomed and deformed on the tie rod.
So since I needed the rod ends same day and NAPA was closed I bit the bullet and went to Autozone which had one Duralast Gold TRE but not the other side so I went to Orileys and got their only avaliable one for the other side which was their house brand. We'll see how long they last. The steering damper I had picked up already before starting the job and just grabbed it from Napa.
Nice... did those in the front of my XJ about 2 months ago along with new full rear leaves with adjustable shackles. A mild lift as lifts go, but IMHO gives the XJ a nice stance over stock.

I bought the adjustable shackles as well, have been struggling with buying leaves. How flat were your leaves, and did both things level your xj, or does it sit higher in the rear?

Mine were completely worn out after 20 years of service. Almost no arch at all. After several recommendations and research... I went with the full leave replacement by Crown... and went with the HD 755lb springs. Quadra-tec had them for a really good price at the time. Even though they are a HD spring, I've been pretty pleased with the ride. Yes it's stiffer than a standard leave spring, but it's actually not as harsh as I was expecting.
I went with Ironman 4x4 relocation brackets and adjustable shackles. Real solid quality. They custom fab their own parts...and I don't think you could ever break one...so worth the cost of admission IMHO.
My OEM suspension was so worn that when I did a 2" lift with new longer shocks/struts, it actually lifted my Jeep like 4 inches from where it had been setting. So I also ended up needing to replace the factory u-joints because it changed the degree of the angle so much.
I have it adjusted where it sits pretty level front to back. might adjust it up in the rear a little if I start towing anything.

Thanks for all your input,I really appreciate it. My Jeep is 24 years old, all factory. I was worried about the shackles and new shocks in the back, still giving that sagging look, you have convinced me I probably need to do the leaves. I thought I should but have been battling back and forth. Thanks a bunch 😃
