What did you do to your Cherokee today?

Got in the Jeep drive it around to run a few errands and found the inside rear-view mirror had fallen off. (A dab of appropriate adhesive should take care of that problem.)

Glued the inside rear-view mirror back on the windshield. Used Permatex rear-view mirror adhesive which set me back the princely sum of $4 at NAPA.

Got the negative battery cables done today.
Had to drill a new hole in the inner fender for that ground.
The bolt snapped and the little metal square it screwed
into that is tacked welded to the fender popped out too.
Installed my new battery too.
All the old cables are still in there. All zip tied out of the way.
I am going to roll with it for awhile and then put in the higher
amp alternator. At that point I will figure out how I am going to remove
those cables.

I installed the factory Mopar oil pressure sending unit EZEARL found for me.
Instantly more accurate than the el cheapo unit I had in there beforehand. Roughly within 5psi of the mechanical gauge I tested with.

I've never hooked up a mechanical gauge to my motor. Got the hose and gauge but never got around to it. So it's good to hear your readings compare that close.

I never would have thought about it to be honest. But randomly it started reading low so I did some reading around about minimum pressure and all and I got worried and started looking into bearing changes and oil pumps and such. Then I realized I needed to verify the pressure first

Yep it's best to verify/test before buying parts. I've run into the oil pressure sensor issue on our '96 Blazer. The shop who installed the motor has gone through four aftermarket ones. Two quit altogether (pegged to the right). One read so low right after being installed it would trip the warning light. So far so good on this one. I believe he changed brands though.

Thinking 4 years now and still reading good.
Last year I finally got around to putting a mechanical gauge to my '00.
Modded it a little so I could run both the gauge in the cluster and the mechanical
one at the same time. Both read close enough to each other for me. 22 PSI at a very hot idle
on the mechanical with about 24 PSI on the cluster.
Thinking 4 years now and still reading good.

So I have been meaning to refresh what I think are my Mopar tail light guards.
They started to rust sometime ago.
So I sandblasted off all the rust but the coal slag media, or whatever it is that I
bought from Tractor Supply, will not take off the powder coating. Could be user error though.
Scuffed them up and cleaned them with some Purple Power.
Trying to make use of chemicals on hand I was thinking of Metal Prepping them with the
POR 15 Metal Prep. Then using the regular Duplicolor bedliner.
Not sure if it will stick to the powder coating though.
Another idea is to POR 15 and then top coat with some black spray paint.
Whatever I do if it holds up will do the same to the brush guard at some point in time.
Whatever I do will happen tomorrow.
So if you guys have any ideas feel free to chime in.

Rinsed, dried, and squirted them with the cheap/regular Duplicolor Bedliner.
I was able to build up the blasted sections somewhat but probably should have used a high build primer in those sections.
But I am rattle can challenged. My buddy says I should not even be allowed to use them. LOL.
For the time being it will have to do.
Really more curious on how this holds up on the powder coated sections.
If it makes it till next spring then I will probably go for the brush guard.
Figure experiment with the smaller pieces.

Rear floor section is complete, from what it looked like in the beginning to now it a big difference. Side windows are in now too.
