That is funny.
Reminds me of a story a buddy told me.
He was went for a ride with his friend to pick up his new dirt bike.
Just as they were about to lift it up to put it in the back of the truck his buddy says "Oh yeah almost forgot".
And kicks it over to the ground.
Then says "Well at least that is out of the way."
You know how you buy something and when all new and shiny it gets the utmost care.
Until it gets that first scratch or dent. LOL.

Changed water pump, found leak in upper radiator hose. Pump should be good for awhile anyway.

Oil pressure gauge kept fluctuating and causing my check engine light to come on so I replaced the oil pressure sending unit.

Put my diesel engine and all the swap parts up for sale this afternoon. I just don't have time for my MJ anymore and need the money right now..

Delivered my XJ to it's new owner that for all I know is on the forum or may soon be. It's headed to Houston, TX ultimately. New owner flew in and picked it up today. Thanks to the many here that chimed in on my questions and comments. It's a fun platform that I'm glad I jumped into even if for only a short while. Overall it worked out for all parties involved as my son and I did work on it together, he got to learn more about what he is looking for in a new ride and I experienced a different kind of vehicle as well. Thanks everyone and I'm sure I'll lurk around here for a bit longer before fully signing off.

Received the new radiator today. Getting prepared to replace the cracked one by laying plywood down in the dirt driveway and pulling the GC over it. Hate working while laying in dirt. From all the videos I've watched I hope I can do it. I'm most worried about an airbag going off. I've heard that disconnecting the battery will prevent that but still I worry. Some videos show the whole front end being removed while others don't. Not sure which way I'll go until I start.

Do what I did maybe. I found a used rubber short bed truck liner on Craigslist for $20. Fits right under my XJ, Between the tires, front to back, and covers the width of her.
I also purchased this on sale for $20 at Tractor Supply.

Cut it into one 4'X1.5' piece and 2 2'X1.5' pieces.
The long one to lie on and the 2 smaller ones to kneel or sit on.
Works out well.

I just noticed the link is not bringing you directly to the rubber mat.
Just the 3'X4'X1/2" one they sell.

Great idea Ralph. I had some 3/4" particle board laying around. The longer length ran the length of the Jeep. I put two smaller ones under the tires and a single small one in front.

My "Garage" for the past... probably nearly 18 years has been a 3 foot by 4 foot sheet of 1/4" plywood with one side painted mint green. Beats laying on the gravel.

I rent and don't have a garage. But what I do have is a very understanding landlord.
So I do have storage to stash things when not in use.
Problem is I have to drag stuff out. So set up sometimes to work on the Jeep is a 20 minute project.
Not to mention putting it all away when done.
The big mat I leave out during the warmer months. Even gives me position to always park in my spot. LOL.
But I roll it up and put it away when winter rolls around cause I don't know if it would get hacked up when the
landlord uses the snowblower on the driveway. Figure better safe then sorry.
I have a whole "system" for working on the Jeep.
Couple carts, a folding table, etc.
I even broke down and bought one of those 10' canopy things recently.
Should have done that a long time ago.
Hey when you don't have a garage you have to make adjustments.
