I actually had a similar problem years ago. My TC bulb had burned out, so I pulled the bezel to replace it. Put it all back together and life was good until the first time I shifted into 4wd and found myself in the dark! Wire pinched in the TC lever gate and blew the fuse.

Busted some.tires off the 2 SE wheels I've managed to acquire after installing some drop anchors in my garage for my cheap *** tire changer.

Now to prep the wheels and paint them then scrounge up 2 more.

Hey you guys remember how we were talking about rubber mats?
Well I came across these in the Lowes weekly circular.

https://www.lowes.com/pd/Brock-24-in...-Panel/3609858

They are over 1/2" thick. Thinking a good size to throw under the Jeep to lay on when working under there.
Have to see one up close and personal to determine if it would work as we would want though.

Too bad we're not closer together. I've got three I don't need.

. Yeah I just checked shipping rates 3 25 lb items and it would be around 85 dollars for ground shipping.

Not true, not everyone has access to those tools, or, the knowledge to use them. I get it, you get it, but the average person doesn't get it. Can anyone do it? You bet! WILL they do it? Not likely, unfortunately.

More pictures would be famous. Would love to see more of this kind of build here.

One thing people can learn from this however, is don't spend money on parts. Spend money on tooling, learn how to use it, and make it happen.

Made some rear lower quarter panel armor. 2x4 3/16" mini sliders tied to the rear stiffeners.

Started out like this

Added these rear window decals

Swapped out to a black front grill, bezels, added Amazon LED headlights and smoked corners and sprayed the endcaps and side molding with bed liner to clean up the faded black. My buddy’s friend is changing lifts and I’m waiting for him to remove his LA lift and I’ll be adding it and wheels then hopefully replace the D30/8.25 axles and regear.

Give him some time.
I swapped my front to white and it did take a second or two for my OCD to kick in
making me buy the tail lights to get rid of the amber back there too.
LOL.

For some reason cops out here will harass you for smoked tails but not smoked corners.

Plan to either lightly smoke smoke them or I found some other taillights I like.

Pulled my MJ back to my house. Decided to have some fun with this rebuild. I am posting polls on the IG page so CF members can choose what I will or will not do to the MJ, step by step. It's like a Build Your Adventure book, except with Jeeps.

LOL.

I'm suffering from the same thing. I can't make up my mind whether I want to go black with clear lens or clear all the way to match the new headlights.

So October/Winter maintenance has started.
Oil change, lube, diff, transfer case, tranny and all other fluids checked.
Filled the window washer reservoir.
Charged up the battery for my impact and little jump box I carry.
Lock-Ease in the locks. Some white lithium for the hood release.
Scrapers, brush, etc put in the car.
Still need to power wash underneath and Fluid Film.
Quick detailing of the exterior too.
