After breaking my will and my back screwing with this I decided to drop it off at my mechanic's shop. It will be worth the couple of hundred dollars this is about to cost me so long as I get my DD legal again.

Does anyone else HATE letting someone else wrench on their XJ? Even when you have no other options?
Well wouldnt you know I stand corrected. I just had my seats out for weeks doing the pans and never noticed there is a ground under the passenger seat. Now whats it grounding I havent a clue.

No way, I love taking my Jeep to the mechanic and going to dinner while they get dirty!

If you have power seats on the passenger side, there should be a ground under the passenger seat, which, as far as I've been able to ascertain, also grounds the right tail light. The LEFT tail light is grounded behind the spare tire location.

Anyways, my problem ended up being Fuse 23 in the PDC. Of course, now it's throwing P0445 or so, the Evap Solenoid one. Looks like I'll be replacing the purge valve tomorrow...

There was never anything wrong with any of my grounds, wiring, or fuses and the ONLY one I didn't change out because I thought it tested ok ended up being the culprit. At least my mechanic felt bad and only charged me for 1/2 a shop hour.

Glad you got it sorted but something had to cause the
fuse to pop. So good thing you changed the sockets and wiring. Also I have no power seats ground is still there.

Worlds slowest engine swap continues on the 92 Cherokee. Battery cable upgrade is being done at the same time. This is the disconnect in the middle of the Alt to PDC wire. The last half of this wire appears to go into the back of the PDC and not to the front lugs like other models. My plan is to tape this end off and leave it folded back on the rest of the factory harness. I figure a couple wraps of tape and cover with a heat shrink cap should keep it insulated and covered all safe and sound.

Swapped out the wife's dash lights for LED's. Believe it or not the 1st picture the dash lights are on. Ripped out the oem transfer case linkage on mine. Found out I'm starting to get some slop the the front driveshaft where it bolts to the yoke. I'm guessing the local parts store gave me the wrong u-joint or my yoke is going bad.

Put the driver's seat back in the '01 Limited. This story started last week when I took it out last week to replace the gears for the horizontal movement of the power seat and to see if I could find the reason for the non-working seat heater. The seat would move front to back, but as the seat moved you would hear a thunk every half a second signalling a broken tooth in one of the gears. After replacing the gears, I pulled the cover off the seat about half way. When we first bought the car, I found the break in the thin blue wire that runs through the heating element and re-soldered the wires together. I remembered that was a difficult repair because of the tiny size of the wire in the heating element. I thought that my repair had become undone. Found that that repair was good and had continuity through it. I did not feel adventurous enough to take the cover all the way off the bottom or seat back. I'll leave that for another day. But when I took the seat out of the jeep, I snapped the head off the bolt at the rear of the seat on the left side. It was rusty and I used penetrating oil and was working the bolt back and forth. The bolt was moving, but only a small distance. I reapplied the oil a few times from the top of the bolt and from underneath the jeep. Also applied heat from under the jeep. After working on this off and on for a couple of hours, I guess I lost my patience and snapped the head off. Didn't get a chance to work on it much during the week, but put more penetrating oil on it and let it soak in for a couple of days. After a couple of hours of drilling through the bolt and using the bolt extractor bits with no luck, I re-tapped the hole and I was ready to finish it up today. I spent more time working on that bolt than on the intended repairs.
I also replaced the front brake pads and rotors on the '01 Sport. Thankfully nothing out of the ordinary happened there.

Default Rack's on

Finished my roof up today , Sprayed the Raptor on the roof and rack the other day let it dry till today, cleaned and prep the stock rack yesterday. I used the Raptor rattle cans and put on one medium coat. It looks good outside I used the gloss black. My only problem is (which I figured before ) I have to let air out of the tires to get it out of the garage . Tomorrow I going to put on the track bar I have had for 6 months while I have it inside maybe the stereo and speakers also have had 6 or more months.

Left it out in the rain this morning.

Looks much better outside

The rack seems pretty sturdy for under $100 the weak point is actually the stock rack it is mounted to . But it will easily hold my spare and tools or camping gear, I'll mostly be hauling lumber and supply's to my river camp this summer.

Simple one but had been putting it off for a bit... Installed a new oil pressure sending unit... finally got fed up with the small leak everywhere I went.
So for now...she's all sealed back up without other leaks.

Scored a awesome find yesterday. Was at my local upull yard looking for stuff for my 94. There was a 93 sitting there (strange because they are normally gone ) went looking through it anyway. There was a box in the back with belts hoses another dash cover in black. And at the bottom of the box was a BBK box. Opened it up and found a nice and shiny throttle body wrapped in paper. Grabbed it and the dash cover a few small pieces and headed up to pay for it all. $65 later home and found out it's a 62mm for that Cherokee. Needless to say by end of day it found it's way to the 01. Test drive was good, seems to be a little crisper when you hit the skinny pedal. Will see how it does on mileage down the road. Bottom line it pays to dig through everything. Last week it was a Grant down between the sections of the drivers seat.
