So I got the new regulator in. See how long this one lasts. I decided to take one of the original Mopar and see if I could figure out why they do what they do. So I basically pretty much destroyed it taking most of it apart. Nothing jumped out at me. I did notice that there what looked like a stop at the bottom. A little worn cause I compared it to the stop at the bottom of the other one. Which got me thinking I wonder if there is a stop at the top of some sorts. The one that had the bottom stop worn wanted to keep going up and down. The other one only when going up. I wish I had not already installed the new Dorman one cause maybe comparing them would have clued me in. Sorry no pictures, know how much you guys like pictures (LOL), but it started to sprinkle and the winds kicked up. I had to shut down really quick so....... I am going to go back at some point and see if I can figure out what's up with the regulators though.
Oh hellz... I have so many new parts staring at me. It is time to EAT.

Just finished day 4 of the rear drum brakes. Everything is back together but passenger side drum seems tight and running about 100F hotter than the driver's side. Apparently I didn't get the e-brake rod tight enough, no e-brake yet.
Replaced fuel filter. That was a bear. What the Hell did I do the last time I replaced it? Last time I remember was about 2004, and it was easy then. Somehow the most forward screw clamp was turned toward the body. Got everything else off but that. PB Blaster just bounced off of it (did help on the 10 schmillimeter bolt on the filter holding clamp). Ended up chewing up my cable cutters cutting through the screw receiver.
Made sure to apply nickle anti-seize to the new stuff. Using high pressure fuel line clamps but they are magnetic, so expecting corrosion. New rubber fuel line there.
Line from gas tank to filter leaked on testing. Had to cut an inch or so off the end of that line. Wanted to put new fuel line on that end, but when I looked up at where it attaches to the tank, I felt like I had enough with this job. Need to take that to a shop and have them replace it.
Still tinkered with adjusting rear brakes yesterday and today. Got serious today with the driving backwards and stopping stuff.
Trying to figure out how to get the fuel line clamp at the gas tank off so I can replace that line with fresh hose and clamps. If it doesn't unscrew (if it is a screw clamp) then will try a file.

Watched lots of Bleepin' Jeep. But my problem is smaller. The bolt in the fuel hose clamp at the tank is pretty corroded, it is original and only removed once for a premature fuel pump replacement about 17 years ago. The rubber line is original too.
When I replaced the filter this week, all of the hose clamps were pretty bad. Had to cut one off and boogered up my cable cutters in the process. When I had everything back together, the line from the gas tank to the filter was leaking bad. Cut back the rotten hose and made the connection, it is holding now.
I know when I disturb the other clamp, at the fuel pump, the hose under it will be a mess. So I need to make sure to get this clamp and hose off without cracking the fitting from the fuel pump. Have PB Blaster on it now and will follow up with a couple more applications until I try removing it next weekend.
Also am looking for stainless clamps with stainless screws so I don't have half of these problems later. These might be a good candidate if the screws are stainless too. https://www.jamestowndistributors.co...FS+Hose+Clamps
I got the mounting bracket in for my OEM 7 pin hitch plug. I went to install it and I have no clue where to put it since I removed the trailer hitch/ factory bumper and installed a smittybilt bumper w/ tire carrier. Has anyone ran into this or know where to put it so the shackles dont hit it? Or is there a way to cap off the connection?
Resurrected an old laptop either last year or the year before.
What I use in the driveway with more involved projects.

Hey that's a swell idea!!!! Using an older laptop for the garage and greasy fingers. I may just do that myself instead of taking a chance on scratching my phone screen from swiping while reading or looking at pictures and working on my Jeep at the same time.... Or my Camaro, or Cummins, or whatever else....
i could go turn it on now, do the factory restore and erase all the ****.... I mean personal data (in case someone breaks into my garage and steals it), let it update (probably for days since it's windows), and keep it on in the garage set to auto update. Then hopefully it won't be a slow dog when I'm trying to use it since it'll just be for reading this forum for instructions, pictures, how to videos for ANY project, etc.... Damn dude. You just gave me a lot to do. Hahaha.....
