Can't remember who it was here who turned me on to this mod after I had to replace one of the BWD 4136 style relays that came with the PUTCO harness. Price was over $20 for one. You can get ten Bosch style relays at amazon for $14.95. So cost was a big factor. Also since you inquired about it I started searching about the BWD 4136 relay. Still expensive. Even cross referenced looking for cheaper alternatives. Either aren't available or still over $20.
As far as the mod goes the connectors and wires are better quality than the originals. If you look at link I posted you can see two schematic pics on the left that show inline fuses recommended between the power source and the relay. All that said one original relay was the only thing I've had to replace on the PUTCO harness since running it for how ever many years it's been since they first came out.

Now on mine the power is jumped from one relay to another with power going to one of the relays with an inline fuse from the battery. So I am guessing you are powering both relays separately.
And I get the pricing you pointed out.
I blew a relay in mine and used Dorman 88069. Which still cost me $5. More expensive then your link.
What I don't understand is that the relay itself would not work without rewiring?

GOOD to see other harnesses are using less expensive relay!
The BWD4136 is a 4 pin relay whereas the Bosch style is 5 pin. So the existing PUTCO connector wouldn't match up to the Bosch style relay. And yes I'm powering both relays separately. That's how the PUTCO harness was designed.

Now this makes perfect sense. OK.
Having to replace one of my relays was most likely my fault.
I never secured them. Know that square hole in the inner fender?
I just through them in there hanging.
Moisture took it toll.
I am guessing I could use those relays at your link in my harness also.

these are the ones I used. I bit more pricey but the quality is great and they are definitely waterproof. I have used these for my headlight harness, aux and tranny fans and for my OBA. I also have them mounted right at the little cutout square and have had zero issues with moisture getting in them. Just throwing them out there for another option for you guys that have been tested for durability

Which I am pretty sure is the same as I bought from the guy here on this forum that used to sell
them that I think I paid $16 for. LOL.

Yeah Leo, you pretty much nailed it. Figure on replacing everything made of rubber as the years and/or mileage have deteriorated them by now. On my 98 this process is still ongoing and has been so for about 4 years...and many, many happy hours working on the rig.

Replaced rearmost rubber fuel line, 5/8" ID. The one that goes from the fuel pump to the fuel filter.
If I had a lift, would have taken maybe 15 min. Took me a lot longer as I don't fit under the gas tank as it was sitting where the garage joins the driveway.
The tube from the pump is metal, but that pump was prematurely replaced around 2003 in a shop. So worrying about busting a plastic tube were for nothing. The scroll clamp there looked factory and had a 1/4" head on the screw/scroll. Used new Gates hose (225 psi rated for fuel injection use) and new fuel line clamps, with a good bit of nickel antiseize and gooey teflon/silicone spray.
Gas that came out was clean, so trash in tank is minimal and there was less than 1/4 tank in there. When I replaced the filter and discovered how rotten that hose was 2 weeks ago, the fuel that came out was gray muddy looking. Last I remember replacing that filter was around 2004. Now on a more robust filter replacement schedule.

So I finally got around to ordering the Mopar Coil for the mod.
Little over $72 with tax off Amazon. 00xjfreedom said that it was much heavier then the Spectra he got
with the Ksuspension set up. It is pretty heavy but I don't know how it compares.
And the harness supplied by Ksuspension slips right on.
Was wondering if it would be a real Mopar part, ya never know, but nobody in the reviews said it wasn't so....
It is made in China though and not Mexico like most of the Mopar parts I have ordered.
So now to get some wires and when I change my spark plugs get this done too.
