After driving it for a half-hour, get under and check the temperature of the differentials and tranny. It shouldn't get too hot. Is that a 4.0?

So, I ordered another, a Dorman, and tossed the old one too quickly. Nothing but problems with the cap blowing off. I hunted for the metal one, but could never find one. The 'fix' was a cap for a Subaru something..

Thank you, I am really happy with it. Let's see how it holds up. Gonna hit the cavity of the shock mounts with fluid film after this stuff fully cured as a double dose of prevention.

I finally got the 4wd shift lever back in tonight. 4 out of 5 bolts just spun while trying to get them out. After carefully cutting out the bolts and riv nuts with a dremel. The foam seal got replaced with rtv. What a pain, damn rust belt. I just have to finish adjusting the boostwerks linkage now.

PB Blasted most of the brake line fittings I am going to be disturbing for a brake line replacement soon. Fired some CRC engine cleaner down on the vapor, brake, and fuel lines just aft of the firewall to pre-clean a little before replacing them.

I do the same with the Fluid Film.
Every October I cover everything underneath.
Power wash off in April. But then reapply Fluid Film to certain areas.
I would cover everything twice a year but it is just messy as hell when working under there in the warmer months.
One thing I have been doing is PB Blasting certain areas first then applying Fluid Film on top.
One of these years I hope to be doing my Up Country lift.
So one of the areas I PB Blast is the shackle and leaf spring bolts.
Then I "seal" it in with the Fluid Film.
If and when I ever get to the lift I will have been PB Blasting for years not just a week or two. LOL.
Another place I give that double dose to is the E-Brake adjustment. Such a bad exposed design.

I'm new to the forum here. Joined specifically to share what I did the other day. I found a replacement power window regulator that will work for the 2 Door XJs since the OEM part is discontinued. I made a write up and everything; just waiting for approval from the site to get it posted as a technical write up.

My ignition switch is intermittently failing so I pulled the jeep into the garage to wire a jumper switch to the starter and noticed the freaking radiator is leaking. now I gotta replace the radiator. great.

New steering gear box. Wrapped the fuel rail and injectors with heat tape. Hopefully that will help with the heat soak. I ordered the heat shield for right there too. New front bumper should be here next week with a new speedo gear and seal as well.

Cleaned off steering box and area. Gotta leak in that area. Ran a wire to the coolant temp gauge. Had the sensor but no wire anywhere on the harness to hook to it. Weird really but it works now

Finally got around to fixing the rear hatch latch. Opened it up expecting to find the metal clip but instead found the plastic one. Cable ties were probably unnecessary but it was cheap insurance while I was in there.
