I don't think that stuff does much in shining them up more either with the factory panels.
But they shine just enough that I am happy with them.
That is why I am playing with the clear coats on the ones I painted.
They don't quite shine like the factory ones.
Using the Turtle Wax or some ArmorAll stuff I had around to not do a thing either.
Hoping the clear coat will.

Default Wonder Wall Window Woes

Today, I spenr yet another 4 hours trying to make my driver door window go up OR down...Tonight, I will, yet again, tape a black garbage bag over the whole door in case it rains. If I do not do this...it will surely rain! I bought another new Master Window Switch (the 1st lasted 1 year) and tried that. 3 out of 4 windows worked. not the drivers. Then, after YOUTUBING, I tred the old favorite solution - splicing the Yellow wire to the Tan wire on the plug with 3 wires (the other one is black) that is under the kick panel by my feet. No good. THEN, I shoved the rubber boot covering all the door wires back into the DOOR side and cut open the black gooey wrapping covering all the door wires to see if one was broken. nothing special. THEN, I drove to the store and bought a 16 ounce VOODOO RANGER IPA and drank it in my driveway. Then I went to the hardware store and bought some small blue wire nuts to re-attach the yellow and tan wires back the way they were. Then, I drove to a local gas station and bought a Powerball Ticket worth $29 million if I win. my numbers are 10-26-58-62-65 - powerball 17. For good luck I also bought a 16 ounce Stella Artois "driving" beer to go home. When I got home I took a shower and a nap and am now writing this to someone who will save me. If I win the Powerball, I am going to take my Jeep to a real expensive mechanic or a Jeep dealership and pay them whatever they want to fix my Jeep window. and the air conditioner, too. Wish me luck!

This is NOT a Jeep. It is a boat. MY boat where I hide from my lovely wife and drink beer when I am not working on my Jeep

Right on.
I did these about 8 weeks ago. They were clean but quite dull when I started.

This is why I did not mention other products. They shine like new and are 20 years old.

Started cleaning the rear axle for paint using a scraper, coarse file, wire brush and emery cloth. Spent a couple hours on it, and havent even touched the tubes yet. Went well until i started putting my tools away. Hit my head on the spring perch, i think. Felt around and saw blood on my finger. Thankfully it was just a small cut and nothing more.

So I did not want to start a thread about this but also figured in the Craigslist thread I would not get an answer.
I know '97 is a transition year but could you have a '96 and down steering wheel with a '97 and up dash from the factory?

I have to think that somebody did that.

Cleaned the door and hatch seals. Considering buying replacements at 320k since they have to be pretty flattened out. We are only 6k away from that.
Redoing the headliner while we do the body work.

Thinking yours are pretty beat up but somebody recommended this stuff to try and bring them back some:

I haven't tried it yet. I think they had an '00 like me. We have these tiny holes in the door weatherstripping.
Not sure if all XJ's do.
Anyway said he stuck the straw in each hole and gave it a squirt.
Said he was happy with the result.

So you guys are probably going to think this is pretty stupid.
But not having this on my Jeep was bugging me. LOL.

A couple weeks ago I was going to deal with it. The bolt had snapped and I was going to drill it out.
Was punching the center for drilling and knocked all the whole rusted piece out.
So I figured would throw a rivnut in there and see if it would hold in the kinda oblong hole that was left there
in the upper radiator support.

'00 here, also and flat AF.
That might be even nicer stuff to use on new seals!
I have been using CRC Silicone for about 3.00 a can but will check out the 3 in 1.

I don't really think my seals are in that bad a shape so one of the reasons I have not tried it.
But will at some point.
Like I said whoever it was that said that seemed to think it did some good so........

I also broke that bolt last time I changed the battery, Doesn't bother me though.

Mine was busted already when I bought the '00 7 years ago.
I did not even know it was there until I either saw one in a boneyard or a picture of a Jeep engine
compartment and saw it.
I have no idea what it really does and know it shouldn't bother me but..... LOL.
Also the little plastic bracket for the overflow hose that hooks it to the upper radiator hose.
Look closely in the right of the picture.

Saw one of those on a Jeep and said to myself "I don't have that".
Was able to source one new. I have no idea why I care. LOL.
Oh that shot was from when I treated the Jeep to a new battery tie down.

Got the "new" axle bolted in! Man, aligning the control arms was a PITA. My track bar needed to be lengthened in order to fit, which was weird because it's a Dana 30 being swapped out for another Dana 30, but the side-to-side alignment at least looks okay. I may have to unbolt it and readjust it again when it's under it's own weight but for now I have a front axle again! Now for the steering, brakes, axle shafts, hubs, alignment,... ugh.

Right on. Here it is more about prevention than repairs on rubber things. Especially if we get new ones.
Any silicone will have UV protection.

Another fruitless day seeking this part. Over three years scouring the JY's and still have not found one of these plastic rear hatch retainers. It came with our used 2000 XJ.
I know how to refurb the metal ones but this works ridiculously well and should never fail. I have no idea if it was a Jeep dealer add-on/fix or an after market match up.
