If anyone is thinking of doing this, here's my input for future use...I bought the kit that comes with the gun and 8 liters of Raptor. I did the entire Jeep including the roof with two coats and I still have 3 bottles left for touch up. That said, I didn't have enough daylight left to go back and spray the door jams, and they weren't prepped anyways at the time but I will eventually go back and do those too, probably next week when I have a few days off.

Raptored

The lines came out clean IMHO
Hells yeah, looks good to me. I'm planning on doing mine in the Basalt Gray liner

Wrapped up my floor "repair" this afternoon.

There was a fiberglass mat under the carpet that was all messed up with chunks of rust and debris:

So using a small roll of fiberglass insulation from Lowes, I lined the floor, and also knocked off any loose chunks of rust from the carpet underlay:

Carpeting then put back in place - it's not in the greatest shape but will do for now:

Put the floor mat back in place and no one would suspect the horrors lurking underneath!

Also re-sprayed the plastic front fender pieces with bedliner since they'd gotten pretty ratty looking since doing that 5 years ago...

About all I need to do now is change oil and filter and hopefully that will do it for a while!

Quick scrub and turtle wax on the new girl. Havent set loose on the interior yet other than a quick vacuum. Definitely buying a variable speed polisher this week. Pulling the head on Sunday.

Hopefully swapping Ecco wheels over from the silver Jeep next week as well.

Changed engine oil using Rotella T6 5W40 + Mopar filter. Also changed transmission fluid, 3 partial changes, driving around 30 minutes between changes. Used most of a case of CAM2 Dexron III/Mercon.

The Carolina sun had not been nice to the roof. I decided that Tropicool 100% silicone

would be used on the top to keep it cool inside when camping and when parked.

Had to Google it.
Well I got to say. That is different.
What sort of prep did you do before laying that down?

Default Good day

So yesterday I changed my oil, air filter and spark plugs, so that I could get my emissions test done today. It passed with flying colors!
While I was waiting my turn I texted the guy that replaced my windshield last time to see if he could do mine in the near future,he said he could fit me in so I got a new windshield too!
pretty good day!

Since it is a roof coating product for RVs and Metal roofs I sanded off all rust and wiped down with some mineral spirits. There are some very good youtube videos on the temp differences.

I was thinking about my upcoming engine swap and I realized that my engine crane won't lift high enough for my lift. I guess I'll build a gantry style and roll the jeep out from under it when that step arrives.

So today consists of power washing under the Jeep. To Fluid Film tomorrow.
As I have mentioned before I felt the cleaning dispenser in home power washers suck.
So I bought that cheap Harbor Freight paint sprayer, the one for $10 with the coupon, to
spray Purple Power underneath everywhere. Worked pretty good last year. If you look close
you can see it on the cart next to the light.

Default SHOT the works

I BIT the bullet and just got it back. I live in northern Michigan where road salt is a given. My Cherokee was getting rusted and spotted SO. I contacted a local body shop and they did a serious clean up job including a lot of new paint .
The lower is applied truck bed liner to fight the road salt. I have a nice clean 4x4 Silverado that is my nice weather ride. The Cherokee is the winter ride. Looks like a new Jeep now.

So today I will Fluid Film. Blew everything off again hoping to get any lingering water out.
Will let is sit for a bit and go to town. Inside the uni-body, inside the supports for my running
boards, and anywhere else I can get at.

So we got this new Fluid Film in the store. It is black. Same part number as the regular stuff with a "B" at the end.

I am not really liking it but will reserve final judgment. I shook the can for what I thought was long enough.
Came out kinda watery. So I shook it some more. Then some more. And then some more.
My arm got tired LOL.

It feels kinda different between my fingers. More watery and less waxy,
No idea why except that I probably have to shake the can even more.

Is that one heavy coat we are looking at or light, multiple coats?
Also considering adding some reducer so it lays a little flatter.
Can I ask what PSI you ended up with on the gun?
Thank you Audio. So I did mention I'm a spray noob right? LOL. That was two coats at least. I think I recall going over a few spots more than that actually. I was really trying to cover all imperfections, and there are many. I suppose what I should have done is do some legit body work and get the dents out beforehand but alas, that didn't happen. This got shot at 60 PSI using the Raptor gun that came in the kit and my 20G compressor.
