Got to go home over christmas break, drove my 99 for the first time in over a year needed a new battery but started right up. Think it might be stuck in 4wd and makes all new kinds of nioses that i don't remember but i still love it. Got back to my base and hopped in my 94 and was kinda sweating it just praying it would start. She started up great and still runs like a champ!

In my quest to dry up all the leaks and noises I replaced the power steering pump and hoses (thanks to some Christmas gift cards). Oil pan gasket is next, plus I need to locate the correct distributor hold down clamp, PO decided that I didnt really need the one that was supposed to be on the motor.
Worked up an antenna mount out of some scrap metal.
Will mount the CB tonight

Changed oil. Checked front diff fluid level. Noticed a leak while on the lift. Greased everything I could. Added windshield washer fluid. On top of that rotated and balanced the tires. (also changed out lug nuts.)
Oh and gave her a half assed bath before all that so they could have some chance of balancing the tires w/o a boatload mud within the wheels.

They used a combination of a MAP/IAT/TPS/CPS to determine the amount of air going into the engine. The Mopar SMPFI used in XJs was designed before MAF Sensors were ever used in cars.

alright thanks! not sure that all that means but i will learn it eventually lol

IAT=Intake Air Temperature
TPS=Throttle Position Sensor
CPS=Crank Position Sensor
what it basically means is that ECM uses a combination of inputs from the air pressure, and temperature to figure out the density and then uses the engine speed and throttle position to figure out how much air is going in to the engine and thus how much fuel it needs.

its actually pretty simple once you break it all down, 99% of things on vehicles are. Most people see all the sensors and wires and everything put together can be complicated and they get intimidated.

put some Rusty's flares on the back of my 99 a few days ago, and put my awsome shiny new JCR stage 2 rear bumper on as well. Just saving for some more armor and a rough country 6.5 in. lift then i can start worrying about doing an axle swap.
