I was adding up the mileage I have driven since I got my 99XJ. I got it in driving condition in September and since then have put 14,000 miles on it! The other day I was pulling into a local gas station to fill up when I saw another XJ at the pumps as well. Pulled into the same "island" to get my fuel and told the guy with the XJ that since I had the chance I might as well fuel up with another XJ! He complimented me on my XJ and its condition and I was asking about his (96 4-door, white, 5 speed, 4x4) with no headliner. I told him I had some sun visors that I would give him if he wanted them. He had asked about the mounting holes along my A column where the PO had mounted a light bar. When we met up the next day, I brought him the visors and the lightbar and the bracket as I would not be using them. He was thrilled and I also told him about the Cherokee forums so he might be reading this thread! It turns out, I worked with his younger brother for many years before I retired as well.

Dropping mine off in the morning. The transmission output shaft seal is leaking and I don't feel like dropping the transfer case myself.

Default Tranny fluid change

I think I just replaced the original tranny fluid on my 93 XJ at 182k.

Redline MT90 went in as a replacement.

feels real good to be under a jeep again.

Been tinkering with some switch bezel stuff. I bought a Alpine ilx-w650 and the Metra kit to install so I wanted a place to put the USB that looked as factory as I could. I bought a usb extender off amazon and fired up the 3d printer.

Not to bad, The design changed a little so the socket fits a little easier. I kinda like the accent color around it.

Got the radio installed over the weekend. I like how the USB port turned out.

Default Headliner

Finally replaced my sagging headliner with Duck Canvas from Michaels craft store. I bought 3 yds of fabric for 6.99 a yard and my wife had a 40% off coupon. Bought 3M 3808 Headliner adhesive online for 23.50. It was a 18oz can and I used almost all of it. I applied it to the headliner board in 65f weather first and let it get nice and tacky. Then applied it to the duck canvas material.
Turned out great for less than 50 bucks in about 5 hours work with cleanup etc

Going to be a nice day today but a little windy.
Figured I would change the oil and filter. And maybe the air filter if needed. Probably just end up blowing it out.
Swap brake and power steering fluid.
Check the diffs, transfer case, tranny, and anti-freeze levels.
And probably call it a day.

I've been under the weather lately with a double ear infection and sinus infection caused by a dental problem but the antibiotics have finally started to work enough so that I can get out and wrench again.

Today I'm doing all the little semi-yearly incidentals on my rig, like torqueing bolts and examining hoses and belts. I realized my lower coolant hose was leaking a tad and that was why I wasn't keeping ideal operating temp I figure...plus this stroker head runs a few degrees hotter than stock to be sure. Putting the finishing touches on the paint job for my new horseshoe intake, and I figured I would change the color of my intake tube at the same time. I'm going to wait to install the intake until I get a full 8 hours of uninterrupted garage time so that I make absolutely certain that everything comes together flush as I really have zero desire to do this again for a few years. Probably get to it next week. On the plus side, it looks like all the vacuum hoses should transfer pretty easily as I have read on this and other forums.

The famous "I fixed your fuel line leak" repair by that BS mechanic is failing already so I ordered a new one for a whopping hundred dollars from a certified Mopar warehouse, which will arrive right before I get into the intake. The plan is to finish installing the rest of the DEI heat sheilding on the fuel rail at the same time, so that I can try to be as efficient as possible with my time.

I ran across this awhile back:

https://www.ebay.com/itm/12454509499...iABEgLiovD_BwE

Guessing it is what you are talking about.
Am unsure if it just replaces a stock one with a stock air box.
Thinking it is not worth the price.
But it does come in red. LOL.
Now whether it will match your red is also unknown.

Today I finished up my soundproofing project...72sqft of Noico 80mil butyl deadening on the doors, hood, hatch, and cargo area, double layered on the wheel wells, and 72sqft Noico 150mil closed cell foam on top of all of it. Also replaced front door seals with ZJ seals (larger, thicker) and added a silicone secondary seal to it. In cabin SPL at idle A weighted went from 59db before all the way down to 51db. Noise on highway is still higher than I'd like at 72db, considering adding thick jute with spray adhesive to the underside of the plastic wheel liners...

I see what you mean Ralph but it wouldn't work with the Spectre intake I have. I'll post pics when I get 'er put back together later, you'll see what I mean.
