So I was driving my Xj to work recently, (I wanted to make sure there was nothing I needed to address for my trip in June), noticed the Blue 98 Xj down the street was missing the cat, muffler was hanging down, (A-holes!) So I'm parking it behind my privacy fence in the back yard for the rest of the month.

Nope, that was a runaway trashcan last time the 60mph winds came through. Thats not even my car. Been waiting for the city to come scoop it up for months. Now that I have the Jeep, I am tempted to go tow it in front of someone elses house haha.

Thanks this is all new to me, my last rebuild was a '83 F250 and a shop did it all for me. So as long as the axles match I should be ok?

Today we are planning on installing a long arm kit on a friends Xj, it is a Curry long arm kit, it requires some welding around the crossmember area. We will probably add some frame stiffiners on both sides of the crossmember while we are at it. Then tomorrow we will probably get to the actual install of the long arm. We will see.

Finally got off my *** and did something today.
Cleaning wheels inside and out.
Rotating my tires and cause I have a full size matching spare do a 5 tire rotation.
PB Blasting suspension parts. Which I seal in with Fluid Film.
Also hit other spots like my leaf springs, between the leafs, with Fluid Film too.
No Squeaks baby. LOL.

Slightly worried my ride height is gunna be bonkers.
I have 3 in leafs, with 2 inch lift shackles, they are adjustable though. I'd rather be lower than too high. So I will probably use the middle attachment point on the shackles. I wish I knew the exact height these shackles lifted at each location. Luckily everything is coming off super easy since the PO put helper springs on the these god awful worn out leafs. Thanks PO.
I also have 6 degree shims, which would work great with the leafs going on the current shackle mounting point but I am thinking if I run the shorter shackle point that will give the axle less rotation and the 6 degrees might be too much. Regardless anything will be better than my axle pointing straight at the back of the transfer case.

I was right, 6 degree shims were too much especially using the middle shackle location. Need some smaller ones. Ride is 100x better though. Ignoring the low speed vibration. Removed the rear swaybar as well which I am not sure I like. All the rattling and clanking is gone in the rear end now though.
Really I need an SYE my driveshaft angle is too much even with a transfer case drop kit. 34 degrees on the drive shaft I measured. Think max is like 30 degrees.
Second thought I think just using the middle shackle would be enough if I take the 6 degree shims out I'll be dead on. FML.
I am not the best at math and changing that shackle location really miffed everything.
