Well yesterday I changed the oil, fixed my broken door hinge, my new cat arrived, and today I picked up my new rear axle and front locker for the jeep.

Started on my XJ bastard packs for our stock 91.
I am using the stock springs from Lil Red which weren't too bad.
Looking for a local spring shop to supply some OEM-style sping clamps.
Planning on taking lots of pics of every aspect.
Acquired all the necessary parts and hardware to start offering the next item in the always expanding HSP catalog: Hydraulic hood lifts.

Could you please take "before & after" height measurements, along with how you construct your bastard pack? I'm collecting parts to do a bastard 2.5" BB, and am hoping to get the leaf pack recipe right on the first try.
Thanks!

Finally got my 4.5 springs up front, as well as new adjustable lower control arms, adjustable track bar, RE shocks and JKS quicker discos. Changed the oil too. My steering wheel is off now though so it is time to get an alignment.

I was chasing down oil leaks, when I noticed two feathers of green coming out of the thermostat housing that weren't there the day before. So... I bought a new gasket and thermostat, pulled off the housing, and found absolutely nothing left of the old gasket. I can't believe the thing didn't just blow a long time ago.
Cleaned the crap out of the block and the housing, and had to retorque it twice to get a good seal. It would have been easier with more than two bolts, I think.
Once I had a good seal, we went wheeling in the snow as a family.

Stared at it a good bit, looked at lift kits...wondered if it's going to be a pandora's box. (SYE, differential, etc.?) http://www.roughcountry.com/jeep_xj_3.html
At first I thought this would be a pretty straightforward project, but now I'm beginning to wonder.

embarissing...but was drifting in the snow and ran into a tree. Now my front bumper is all jacked up. To get it so my fender wouldnt constantly rub on my tire the whole time i drove, i hooked tow cables to the corner of the steel bumper and connected it to a my bros truck and and pulled her right back to where it was...partly
