Finally got the TJ flares on. They're not quite done yet (a little more trimming to clean up the look and a final blast of black paint), but should be by mid week. Oh, and I'm getting new rims tomorrow.

And that's only two. I got two more up there. I was seeing spots. I prolly will end up upgrading the bulbs to 100watt. All the wires are 12ga so they are ready for the bigger bulbs.

Did you wire up the light in the flare?

Rooster - Yeah i'm using the flare markers. It's a crappy cell phone pic but it at least shows progress. Like I said, some more trimming and paint will make a big difference. Friday I'm pulling the original side markers and filling those areas in then painting them to match the body.

If you do any kind of off roading i would not fill it in.. the fill will crack with body flex... What I would do is take off the factory side markers and sand them down and paint them body color then reinstall them... hope this helps you out... happened to my friends Jeep...

I'm using fiber glass to fill, not bondo, so it'll be stronger. I did the sand and paint on the markers and I just don't care for being able to tell they're still there.

what did your friend use? If he used fiberglass as a backer, bondo for filler, and then put a thin coat of rosin over top, it should probably be fine.

Slowly pulling apart El HOYO. Got the condenser and A/C compressor off today. One of the bolts broke off in the A/C compressor mount...took it in stride. Everyday I work on it something else breaks, the other day was the heater control valve, practically shattered like ice. Oh well.

I do not think he used rosin over the top he plans on redoing it again.. i will suggest this method... i think he just used and bondo and fiderglass mesh but i am not sure...
