it seems like i can never get on here the day that i do something, but....
yesterday i picked up an oem bumper-mount tire carrier with all brackets for $40! the guy i bought it from had bought it for his '97, but it's made for pre-97's. he was a chill guy who recently bought his '97. both he & his girlfriend were interested in turning their stock ride into something a little bigger & better, so i directed them to CF, along w/ NAXJA, & some of the other forums that have helped me out. he orig. wanted $50 for the tire carrier, but hooked up a fellow xj'er. don't worry, good karma will come around. (he even said he was a little jealous of 'Ol Smokey) now i just gotta grab a few bolts from the hardware store, drill a couple of holes, & relocate my license plate! any ideas on plate relocations?

Wasn't able to slow down fast enough and I slammed into the right tail light of a 2002 Jeep Grand Cherokee. Bollocks I say...this set back all my plans for the next month, got an $80 ticket for the wreck (adding insult to injury), and gotta replace my bumper, left fender, grille...etc. No major damage that could total it. I also may lose my insurance and will have to pay for all the repairs out my own pocket...which sucks cause I don't make enough at my current job.

Thanks for feedback cause those were gonna be part of my lighting upgrades in the next month. Even the chrome ones are dim, you're not talking about the black ones right just checking. As for hid upgrade I might but I feel like it's overkill on an xj

Edit: still looking for good housing to give better light and to replace my hella ecode h4 conversion lights.

Wouldn't be the first or the worst wreck I've been in. I'm just upset with myself that I hurt my poor Jeep in its prime. :/

Painted up a a set of drop brackets I have had laying around for years, thinking I might actually get them installed this year! LOL

Also painted up a set of control arms to match, gonna look funny with blue control arms and blue drop brackets on a black jeep. Now just to find some damn bushings for the arms.

Well from the pic it doesn't look too bad. As long as your radiator is still good then you good. Although how bad is your fender hitting the tire?

I just put a stock replacement K&N air filter in. Kinda of kicking myself for not going for the all out air box replacement. Not sure how much of a difference it would have made. I noticed the hole that is in the airbox is SO SMALL. Thinking of sawing out the hole to be larger... thoughts?

Also how dirty would you rate this old filter on 1-10.... 10 being dirtiest?
