Used Rain X Headlight Restorer Kit on my 97 GC. Headlights were yellowed and looked aweful, now they are clear and shine!

Today lets see . . i started her up and put her in R to reverse out of my driveway, then moved her into D to travel 2 miles to my place of work, then put her in P to park her for the day, then after about 8 hours proceeded to do the same steps as mentioned before only this time i put her in P in my driveway when returning home . . . i guess you could say it was one of thoes "epic" days for the XJ

Replaced my pre-cat oxygen sensor. That P.O.S. must have been bad for a while, it feels like I gained 25 hp.

Wire wheeled and primed the rusty spots on the bottom of the doors. Used Krylon Rust Restorer primer. It was just typical pinch-weld rust. Just have to wait for that to cure for a few days then paint. I'm going to sand down the rockers and coat them with bed liner. Then paint them body color to match as well.

Went night mudding out at the field by my house since it rained a ton the other day. It was surprisingly not that sticky, but the stinkiest mud I have ever seen. It literally smells like dinosaur crap.

Its dry here, unless it rains for a week straight you have to be stupid to get stuck out there, like my friend did when he caught a rut on the diffs.
Last month when it rained for a few weeks straight, it soaked all the way down to the clay, making the stickiest crap ever. It was six inches at most deep.

Oh ya add on c-list. trying to trade my power seats for manual seats. gonna keep the power doors. to make half doors. and get some manual doors for rainy days. which is most days here in Vancouver's lower mainland. gotta love living in a rain forest

Replaced the alternator with a "new" one from the junkyard and then took off the rear drivers side fender. =] then painted the front drivers side. Would be better with bigger tires ands a lift but one thing at a time. Haha.

Almost killed my altenator too. but she came back alive on the way home. was a nice surprise since it sucks driving home with no alternator
Great lookin rig! Quite similar to mine actually. Few questions for ya. How'd ya seal your snorkel? Are you ever concerned with the top half of the airbox? I've sealed everything but naturally left the airbox claps and perimeter alone so I could still open it up to get to the filter. Just concerned that water might still get in. Also, do you ever flip your snorkel head backwards? Lastly, I too went heavy into water and now my alternator spools like a supercharger. Lol. I know it got too wet so could you recommend a water friendly option?

BAD idea. That's the same thing as using lift blocks and those are known to cause axle warp. Also, lift blocks can cause the leaf springs to detach from the axle while wheeling. If you really want to lift your XJ for cheap, go to the junkyard and find an S10, GMC jimmy, blazer, or a bravada and grab the leaf packs. Add a couple leafs from the S10 packs to the packs for your XJ and you should get 3-4 inchees of lift. If you don't want to do that you can always get lift shackles.
