I'd just remove the ABS all together. XJs never seemed to have a reliable ABS system anyway.

Finally finished my 2" lift today! I wish I went 4", but then my new tires would look to small. So Im pretty happy with the final results. New shocks and steering stabilizer, it feels pretty nice to ride in now!

That's what I did. I replaced the whole abs system with the dual diaphragm stuff. Although, I didn't replace the lines or take the wheel sensors out. Could that cause that much of a difference?

How much of a P.I.T.A is that? I would love to get rid of my ABS so I could do a cold air intake in the cowl using the stock air box!

I'm sure it's like removing an ABS system from any vehicle. I've never had to do it because both of my XJs are non-ABS.
Ask uhrinator about it, he just deleted his ABS.

Shouldn't make any difference. Although what could be causing your brake pressure issue could be the the lines. If you haven't replaced them already, do so. Old, rusted lines tend to get small pinhole leaks in places that are impossible to detect. Also check your wheel cylinders on the drums, it's pretty common for those to go out on an XJ. I've had one of mine go out, and a kid I know with a 99 XJ has went through about 3 of them. They will cause a leak and kill your brake pressure.

Oh, well I looked at my wheel cylinders and I couldn't tell if they were bad. I'll check them today. How much would new lines cost?

On the newer style I don't know but I'd assume that you just bypass all of the abs system so your brake lines go straight to the proportioning valve. That's what I did and it worked ok so far. As far as I know, I'm the only one that's done this without a shops help. But it shouldn't be that hard. Dukie might be able to help too.

You can tell if your wheel cylinders are bad by taking off the drum and looking to see if there is brake fluid/grease all over the brake parts. if there is, replace the wheel cylinder. As far as new brake lines I've been eyeing this set for a while, they're really nice.

They're around $83 which is a great price for what you get.

Rustys offroad 2" shackle and coil spacers kit. It came with 2 longer shackles, 2 coil spacers & 4 new shocks with 2" longer than stock travel.Love the kit, love the price and it was easy to install! I paid a little extra for a new steering stabilizer also. I believe those tires would fit with this lift, but I would talk to someone at rustys first though. It took much longer to spray and gently remove all the bolts without breaking them, than to do the actually lift!

Get one from a Dakota... Keeps it MOPAR. Plus, dakotas are heavier than s-10s so the leaf won't sag as much... Find one from a 4wd and your golden.
