I have HF High Lift. It works great and compared to my brothers real High Lift I like it more. Seems to be easier to operate. The only downside is that some of the neato add-ons for High Lifts don't work for the HF one. But, for what I need it for and what it cost, it's perfect. Just make sure it says well lubed with some light machine oil.

If you need an engine skid you obviously don't know how to pick a line. I wheeled at RC almost every weekend from 2003-2008 I never came close to hitting my oil pan. And I ran black trails and rock creek all the time. A gas tank skid tcase skid and sliders with diff protection you'll be good

I agree. An engine skid is probably the last skid plate I'd ever think about adding. You'd have to be doing some pretty goofy crap to get a rock that far up behind the front axle not to mention between the lower control arms and the driveshaft. RC just isn't going to be like that on the greens and blues. Gas tank skid and rock sliders are a yes, but like I said before I wheeled a stock XJ on greens and blues at RC with no skids or sliders with no issue. Just keep your head screwed on tight and think about what you're doing. Plan where you're going before you get there.

Good, I don't want to add a whole lot more of unnecessary weight to my xj. I'll prolly start with a t case skid and differential protection. I think I wont do sliders. I think I'll wheel with stock rockers until I bang them up then cut them out and replace them with 2x6 tubing
