Default what lift kit should i buy?

shocks, springs, lower control arms, add a leaf. $400

shocks, springs, add a leaf. $300

What do you plan to do? Any wheeling? If it is just for looks, get the basic coils, leaf, and shocks.

With my lift I initially had an add-a-leaf and while it did lift it (the rear), I found the tired old OEM leaf springs sagged some after adding an off-road bumper and quite a bit when fully loaded. I replaced the OEM leaf springs and the add-a-leaf with new Rubicon heavy duty leaf springs. Doing so significantly improved the ability to support the added weight and the ride improved significantly as well. I vote for a kit with new leaf springs.

kit with control arms and new leafs, much better front flex with arms, plus you are probably going to be replacing a worn out part anyway....

Get the full leaf pack. That's the kit i got. Was $500 and some odd dollars when I mentioned Cherokee Forum to the guy (Jason?) that i talked to.

Love the ride. Firm, but feels very similar to stock.

First off, welcome! Second, what do you plan to do with it? Third, what company are you looking at? Forth, what do you plan on doing with it?

3" lift I would go with OME, or Rubicon Express. RC is Junk Spend more at first it will save you more in the long run.

I've run RC in the past on another XJ I will admit is pure garbage !

My current XJ is running a 3.5" Rubicon Express lift with Bilstein 5100's it Rides and performs great !

LOL...I really don't understand all these RC is junk posts. Ridiculous. I've been running a RC kit and it works awesome. No complaints what-so-ever.

As with ANY offroad kit, do your maintenence and you'll be fine.

Bottom line, look at your budget, REALISITCALLY deside what you want out of it/what you will be doing with it, and make your purchase.

Yes, when I first got it the leaves were too short and it rode rough. Adding sliders and bumpers helped. Then I did a shackle relocation box and boomerangs and that **** is SOFT.

thanks for all the responses guys. i plan on doing some wheeling but its mainly for looks. i beat on mr. jeep (1500lbs of mortar in the cabin and a trailer full of bricks on a random day) and the rear end is really starting to sag thats the main reason i want a new leaf pack. how much life does an add a leaf bring to the stock leafs?

thanks,

I live in Las Vegas and wheel every weekend. The mojave has some very challenging terrain and my RC kit handles it all.

If you are looking to wheel a little but mainly for looks, I suggest you look into a junk yard lift, save a lot of money.

thanks,
If your leaves are saggy, don't do an AAL. It will sag very quickly and you'll be back to where you started.
