Compared to another brand? That would be cool to see!

Royal Purple, i decided that since my poor engine went in NYC for 3-5 years without a single oil change, i best give it something good.

I might start using an extended life mix

I just use the plain ol', cheap Wally-world stuff. Many years ago, when I was driving a truck over the road, I used to have to go down to Shreaveport, LA and pick up loads of oil (cases). I used to see Valvoline, Havoline, Castrol... etc all sitting on the dock right next to the Wal-Mart stuff. It all comes from the same factory with a different label and maybe (MAYBE) a few little differences. I have been using the Wal-Mart stuff for @ 30 years with no ill effects (and I have NEVER changed my oil and filter at only 3,000 miles - more like 30,000 miles or so...or when it got dirty). This is just my opinion and preference. Other people will have their own opinions and preferences. To each their own. Nothing wrong with the more expensive brands.

ive been using whatever is on sale at AZ whenever its time for a change (both filters and oil)...penzoil, quaker and maybe castrol to name a few, 5w-30. always buy a jug and a quart of marvel mystery oil. to be honest the engine doesn't seem to care much as far as i can tell. i have no idea what went into it during the first 150k, so i figure as long as im changing it regularly it doesn't matter much.

Rotella 15-40 for summer
Rotella t6 5-30 for winter
Wix 51515 filter

I never run Penzoil because ive torn too many core engines apart and found a wax like substance in them built up all over inside the engine. It wasnt sludge but it was a additive they had inside the oil.
