It should work for you if you are really a wanna be wheeler , but if you bought it to use , take it else where and get it modified to tie into the frame. I wouldn't go back to the guy that already has your $.I wouldn't pull from it. But then again you already over paid so you could sell it and try to get some $ get a real off road bumper.

I made a similar bad purchase awhile back. I bought this giant thing for $150. Only factory mounting points and this thing was HEAVY. The first thing I did was cut the d rings off. I ended up selling it for what I paid for it.

I have a similar issue with mine. Its welded on but I bought the xj that way. I haven't tried pulling with it but it is a very stout little bumper. And sorry but I have a question. Where else can you tie the bumpers in?

Just buy the brackets and weld them on the bumper. Nates 4x4 sells them for $50. If your not a welder a weld shop can do it. A good bumper will cost you $250-300+ n you already have the bumper it's not worthless and contrary to what has been said about d ring tabs and shackles if they are welded on right they make good tie down points when on a trailer. I haven't seen many mall crawlers being transported on a trailer.

I agree if the build quality is there he could do that but the extra $50 for parts and then $50-75 for welding it up plus the price of his good stock bumper?????
If everything checks out he can use it and your correct about the D-Ring tie downs also I use mine on the front and back on my race car hauler when the XJ is on it.
