I agree. In fact, I even wrote that to him.
What say you? Stick with MiniVan “All season Highway” Yokohama?
Or get these Kuhmos that look all trucked out?
Those are fine tires, but I thought you specifically said you'd never go off-road, and just wanted something to drive around on the highway? And why do you care what the tires look like on a truck you refuse to wash or maintain?
Put the newer tires on the rear axle. Understeer is easier to control than oversteer.
I do want some snow control.
The Yoko seem like basic Camry tires that would spin in snow?
Read the tests and reviews of these tires. You can't judge how a tire will handle snow based on how it looks.
I'll read some reviews, but am leaning heavily towards the Kumhos.

I did some more reading.
One review said the Kumho tires were totally bald after 20k miles.
Has a low treadwear rating of 540.
I don't really drive faster than 70 in my old XJ, so road noise may not be a huge issue.
Plus, I already have AT's on them now, so I'm already used to whatever noise.
Also, the Yoko tires were rated poorly in the snow (6), so that's a deal killer.
I found these. Yokohama A/T for $110.
Better treadwear 600.
Well rated in snow (8)

ONE review said that? Could their alignment been bad? Bad driving habits? Not properly inflated?
Yeah, I'd go with that versus my personal real life experiences on 5 vehicles where it snows.
I'm unsubscribing from this nonsense.

I don't know why you came here to ask...sounds like you know what it is you want.
The Perfect Tire.
Well, when you find it, be sure to get some unicorn farts and rainbow **** at the same time.
Plenty of people gave you great suggestions. From personal experience. Yet, once again, you decide to do whatever it is you do, so I just gotta ask...why even bother to come here and ask the question at all?
By all means...take another 10 years to make a decision...my suggestion to you is go find a tire shop, buy any all terrain, even the cheapest one, and you'll be way ahead.

Yeah man you seem set on the Yokohama, but I personally hear and have known their all terrains to be, well not the too great haha.... but if you don't use the jeep that much they will be fine. But if you are comparing the khumo and yoko, honestly I hear better from the khumo.
Imo, reading reviews of tires online isn't a great way to get an idea of how a tire is, youbhavr no idea who gives those reviews....most people that leave those reviews have no idea whatvl they are talking about....last a long time? Most tires do. Great traction. Ok compared to what?...and I say that because when I ask customers at the shop about their tires to do our little rating system, some have those typical responses until I ask them specific questions of their driving and things of that nature. Once specific questions are asked then real answers come out. Online it's just leave a review because you had these tires on that helped you up a hill and automatically they are great haha. I guess you can say that about all products, but imo you have to have a little more knowledge about tires then other products to give a proper review.

My Yokohama A/T's are arriving today.
I'll get them mounted in the evening.
Kumho gets mixed reviews on most tire sites.
So for me, Yoko's higher treadwear rating was worth the $10
When prices are equal, Japanese Tires > Korean Tires
Japanese tires have a better quality than that of Korean tires.

Some Coopers are American made but not all, they also have factories in Mexico and China. The Cooper Zeon RS3-As on my Mustang are made in China , though I haven't had any issues with them (after about 3 years and 25k miles they are about due for replacement though, but W speed rated performance tires in general aren't known for long life) and they get good reviews.
