What would you do?
If you could have any year XJ, and you could make any modification, with an unlimited budget, what would you do to it?

Take the VIN tags off my '97 and attach them to a Terrible-Herbst BAJA Race truck. Easy-Peasy.
Edit: In case only XJs-R-us is the only one who knows what I'm talking about:

Yea, an XJ with a diesel would be awesome, and a beefier transmission to handle the added torque.
Don't know why they're so many "I want more hp" threads in here, torque is what you want for a Cherokee.

'99 sport,
AX-15,
NP231,
C8.25 rear,
D30 OX locker,
C8.25 air locker,
4.7 stroker,
4.5" lift Skyjacker coil springs,
4.5" lift Skyjacker leafs,
OME shocks,
homemade long arm kit,
homemade tc cross member/skid plate,
homemade front and rear bumper (already designed in FeatureCam),
Warn 12,000 lb. winch,
homemade rockers,
homemade roofrack,
KC lighbar,
15x10 Outlaw II wheels,
33x12.50 GoodYear MTR,
removable external cage... for now.
so, most of my plan is investing in a Lincoln Mig-Tig-stick combo generator, tubing bender, small squaring jig and other tools that follow.

99 limited,35's, 5+ inch lift, caged, warn front winch bumper and warn rear, stroked, waterproof, locked and loaded with lights!
But shortly after some off road fun, I would also trade it for a JK Rubicon.

Hell yes!!! I just thought of doing a swap like this and what it would take!
Narrowed it down really, the RB26DET, 2JZGTE, SR20DET, and those are in order top to bottm. For those of you who don't know what glorious engines those are:

It is an easy swap because it bolts right up to an AW4, and is smaller and lighter than the engine you are taking out, but still puts down 400 horse and more torque all across the curve than the 4.0. It would be awesome on a high speed desert Jeep.
