AND............ i swallowed my pride and caled the guy back and told him I apologize for being frustrated. I will be looking at the XJ this Sat. and if all is well i will drive off with my new to me cherokee!!! Can you guys give my any pointers on things to look for when buying one? as in inspecting the jeep iteslf? Thanks in advance, Randy

visually check and put your hand on the steering components and check them. i'd also look for rust issues and possible cracks in the frame. look for dry rotted hoses and leaks in the engine compartment. leaks around valve cover or any gaskets. including diffs. visually inspect rotors for gouges or fins lol.
sry im a stickler when it comes to buying a vehicle. people hate me for that. lol. i'll spend 15 mins underneath one. the guy i bought my xj from had a book of every recite and oil change and anything he did to the xj wrote down and dated and the mileage wrote down beside it. sold me on it. i continued the book. had to get a new one though.
