I came across a 3" (RC) lift kit... coil/leaf springs, shocks and control arms (Rustys). What would be a fair price to offer?

does RC even make a 3" lift with leaf springs? I'm not seeing one
which of these kits is it http://www.roughcountry.com/jeep_xj_...lift_kits.html

maybe $50-$100 for a 3" rough crappy lift if it isn't clapped out.

those aren't full leaf packs, they are add-a-leafs I wouldn't give over $200 for it, and that's if the shocks are in VERY good condition.

I know the kit on that page isn't the full leaf packs, but if you click on that kit, you can select the full leaf packs. The kit that I found for sale, comes w/ full leaf packs.

so yeah. would he take $75? those are the worst leaf packs on the market. used fixed control arms aint worth much either. not a dime over $75 for me. and I still feel like that's generous
he only has CA's, coils, and leafs right? shocks and other junk might up the value. but not by much

It depends on the condition. New it's about $600. Excellent used, you're looking at probably $400. Good, $300.

He's not going to sell you a kit like that for $75. If you offered me that, I'd tell you to go **** yourself unless I had it listed for $100.

Agreed! And, that is why I'm coming to you guys; to help me decide.

Again, the kit for sale, comes with both coil and leaf springs, shocks and upper and lower control arms.

Yes RC makes the series 2 3inch kit with leafs. It's about 600 new with the leaf springs. So for that as long as it's complete I'd say 250-300. If it's the aal lot than no more than 150.

for reference. I picked up this kit for $400 slightly used but the bushings had been replaced, missing discos and shackles. leafs packs were brand new. I had to replace the track bar joint.

to pay more than $100 for a used RC kit with less components in it just sounds absurd to me

There are deals when you find them and it appears you got one. But to lowball the **** out of someone just because you got something similar for cheaper elsewhere is ridiculous and one of the reasons I hate selling stuff. I posted what I thought were fair prices. $75 is absurd. You can't hardly get blocks and spacers for that price.

then I guess it comes down to how "used" the kit is. I mean just knowing RC and their reputation, would you yourself really pay $300 for LCA's, used leafs, 3" coils, and some shocks?

and you know as a buyer, this is what I hate to see in a seller. someone who over pays for aftermarket parts uses them and expects them to hold value. posts them up for sale with a high price tag and waits for some poor guy to come buy it and there it goes passed down the line sold from one sucker to the next sure if I had the kit I'd post it for $300 but I'd easily take $100 and feel bad if someone was actually willing to pay that much for it because I know I'm selling them junk parts. the OP asked for what a fair price is and $100 is what I'd sell the parts for if they were mine. it's one thing if you've got some quality parts still in good shape. it's another if you're recycling rough country parts to recoup your loss

so what this guy doesn't have an asking price? he's forcing you to make an offer? he's obviously fishing because he knows it's junk but wants to see what he can get out of you. so go ahead and lowball the **** out of him. if he says no then oh well there will always be a constant stream of crappy parts floating through craigslist. get the next one
