wheel spacer conversion
I have a 2001 xj and I have the 5x4.5 stud spacing and I have wheel spacers on there and I got free rims for a Rubicon which is the 5x5 spacing is it worth to get the conversion wheel spacers or are they bad news?

https://www.cherokeeforum.com/f67/wh...advice-221319/, Here is the thread from when I asked the same question. I ordered the spacers from Quadratec and although I haven't put many miles on them so far so good.

https://www.cherokeeforum.com/g/picture/1988022, all of the plastic is off of it and I have not posted an updated pic in awhile. I mostly have been working on getting the steering and suspension tightened up with some small interior stuff like the ZJ seat upgrade. Breaking Bad is probably one of my favorites, it had run its course though.

You know good adapters your looking 200 bucks right?I would sell the rims and use the money to buy rims that fit.I have seen the aftermath of a adapter failing which means your wheel comes off while your driving. No way i would ever run them when i can buy rims that fit for the price of the adapters alone.

I agree why pay the price of a set of wheels for good spacers rather than do the right thing to begin with. You will never find a set on any of my cars, SUVs, trucks, etc. for the simple reason to fit an improper wheel where it doesn't belong.
Won't even address the junk cheap spacers.
Yes your correct it is all about maintaining things but these are shall we say "Out of Sight Out of Mind" and happens much more often, would you not agree?

I used to own a towing business and I can't tell you how many cars we towed with wheels that came off.
Loose lugnuts that came off or over tightened ones that snapped off the studs.

Spaced Out
I've used the SyderTrax for 300K km, torque 100ft lb, yes and with antiseize on the hub and threads, no issues. The antiseize on the hubs allows easy removal in future service, the AS on the threads is debate flogged to death on other threads.
I used the spacers to prevent rub on lower control arms when upping tire size on stock rims.
Absolutely no issues.
Yes geometry is modified, scrub radius changes and you will spray more mud past stock wheel wells.
Just torque correctly every time, and couple days later retorque! Just makes sense.
Will work for your bolt pattern conversion. Was only $160 set including delivery way back then, QTech. Costs more today.
Final is your choice, but good spacers are a viable option.
