the spacers create leverage that a wheel by design doesn't I think an answer to you would be go with your gut make budget #2 reason

I have 15x7 with 3.75 backspacing and spidertrax spacers all the way around. 32x11.50r15 (11.5 inches wide) with trimmed rear fenders and they stick out nicely

You need to look for backspacing, which is the distance from the back of the rim to where it mounts on your rig.
Correct me if I'm wrong but I believe stock Backspacing is 4.5"
To have the same effect as spacers you would want to have a smaller backspacing, to push the tire away from the body
