I know. But I just bought this Jeep and they were on it so they will have to do until I put a lift on it. Then again... since most off-roaders buy better tires, it could be that these tires are rated bad because only inexperienced drivers buy them. Ever think about that? Hmmm....

As to the part I bolded, read that thread a bit, especially post 89...I work in the tire industry, and interact with customers that come into the shop on a daily basis. These tires are just bad man, plain and simple. Even for their price. Their are a few other tires that are similarly priced that are much better. I don't like selling them to customers, especially now in winter because they are dangerous in winter conditions.

considering we usually get snow in early November, late october, this is pretty alarming to not see any at all to this point haha....All the ski resorts open in early November...they are open now on man made snow alone now, no help from mother nature haha

I was just messing a bit about the fact that the PO of my XJ had put a brand new set of them on a few months before I got it.
I just said what I did in this thread because from the other one... Martlor13 and others were saying they were so bad that they wouldn't want to sell them to their worst enemy.... and for me...that while it is a crap handling tire, I think I was just expecting it to be more crap than what I initially experienced with them was all.
Like you, I'm only planning on running them until the lift and then off they go.

I'm not sure what would happen if Martlor13 and I were ever in the same room together. We'd either never shut up about tires, or we'd be in such agreement about everything that we'd have very little to actually discuss.

haha!! Man tires are a fun subject. You can throw bugout into this equation as well since he's in the tire biz, with much more experience then me. I've been with my job for awhile now, but didn't start taking a serious interest until about a few years ago. Tires are cool to talk about because majority of people don't really know much of the intricates. They are just a maintainence item that they ignore until issue arises. But when you talk to them when they are waiting for the job to get done, it doesn't take long until they find some interest in the "science" of tires haha

242 needs a bit of care but as long as your tyres are the same size/pressure it'll shift OK. Just keep the wheel straight and stay off the power until you've switched back to 2WD.
