Almost every tire brand I can think of has winners and losers.

Want tires to avoid?
  • Pirelli Scorpion ATR
  • Goodyear Wrangler
    • Radial
    • ST
    • SR-A
    • HP
    • HT
  • Bridgestone Dueler (except Revo2)
  • Michelin & BFG have some good models, but I recommend against them because they are ripoffs compared to the competition
  • Falken's old AT (not the current AT3W)

Dunno why you wouldn't just prefer to tell us your needs/wants and get a few suggestions for great tires. A list of turds is not nearly as useful.

excellent points. Only thing I disagree with is the bfg part and not recommending any of them. Their lineup isn't the best, but the bfg all terrain is at the top of its class. It's worth every penny you pay. I rarely hear anything bad about it from customers, I loved it with personal use, and guys you talk to at offroad shows and events swear by it as their personal choice, sponsorships aside hahha....but that's probably their only tire I recommend, the rest I agree witg you haha

and yes every brands has it's hits and misses...you can't get every tire just right.

to the question on general tires asked earlier, they are a pretty good brand as well...hankooks, you could probably add them to the "commercial tire list I stated, but their tires aren't priced like they are a premium brand like the others try to be. They are priced appropriately majority of the time. Their overall lineup is more hit then miss as far as value to price ratio.

I've never owned a vehicle that had BF Goodrich tires on it, does that make me a bad person?

it doesn't make you a great person if that's what you really meant to ask

Maybe I am looking at this backward but, right now I am not really sure what my needs/wants are. All I can tell you is that I now have a Cherokee in my drive with less than 65,000 on the odometer and about 10K on the tires. Can't even tell you how much it will get driven. Those Hankooks may last me for years.

I think best thing to do is to sit down and honestly ask yourself how you are going to use the vehicle. Mostly on-road, off-road, does road noise p*** you off or are you cool with a little bit of it? In your area, do you have a need to swap out for a true winter tire for that season, or would a decent all season or AT be the best route?
Once you have your own honest answers to questions like that, then you look into what specific make/model of tire fits that bill.
Then you solicit help from those on here.... as there are several active members that are either directly in the tire industry or work with it frequently. Then you'll get a better answer as to what models of tires to look at. Don't go with the lying crap reviews on tire websites. Half or more probably aren't true.Where as on here, those in the industry and those of us with personal experience will give it to you straight.
Then you can go with the best quality one that you can reasonably afford at that time.
